I am thinking about a dog so i need to know

Well my dog was born in May. Her first litter was born in June. My moms dog was born in November and her other dog in Febuary.
So I think dogs are having pup's all year around.
I do think they may have more pup's in the warmer months though.

Dogs can have puppies in any season. Some breeders try to time their puppies to be born so that they will be 6-10 weeks old (ready for their own homes) in months when the weather is neither too hot or too cold. This is mostly so that puppies can be flown to new homes if necessary. Puppies can only be flown when the temperature is moderate.

You can probably find the dog you want at any time of the year. There is no one best time. With breeders its when the dam goes into heat and when she was bred. There were times when I had pups in the winter and none in the spring. Then more pups in the fall and none in the summer. You have to find what your looking for.

They have a litter 63 days after they breed. It can take months to research different breeds to find the right one for you, then to find the right breeder (there are a lot of bad breeders out there ready to take your money), and then to wait for a planned breeding.
Or you can check www.petfinder.com for available puppies now and adopt a pet who needs a home.
