No.
Why would it be? Seems like a simple question.

No dear, it's not wrong, but you must remember some people don't like 'getting cornered' in public.
I also know its not right to be ashamed of Jesus, but so many for some silly reason are hung up on this political correct thing.
Maybe try catching that person alone and ask them quietly...they may surprise you with an big smile and a joyful, 'Yes'!!
Also it might help to pay attention to particular jewelry they may be wearing. If you see a semblance to a cross/crucifix you may be pleasantly surprised. I don't suggest however approaching anyone with that question should they be wearing a pentacle (Wiccan star). Definitely don't ask anyone with an inverted cross or inverted pentacle! Just a suggestion!

I once told a Christian that I had been under attack since I'd become a Christian. I used to be Wiccan, though I didn't tell her that, and ever since I converted, the attack has been constant. Doubts nagging at my mind...not of the existence of God, but whether God actually cares or not. Among many other things. Most of which people would probably think I was nuts if I put them down here.
Anyway, this Christian told me it was because I wasn't actually born-again. WHAT?! I was very offended. I still am.
So yes, depending on the situation, it's wrong.

No-Jesus said "Repent and be born againt o see the kingdom of heaven." John 3
I am born a Jew and I have been spit in my face by a Jewish lady-saying I was a disgrace to the Jewish people--as I preached Isaiah 52:13-53:12 -I said well you must be seeing something I havent even said a name -and others here are saying I am teaching about Jesus and be quiet.
-i prayed and let Jesus comfort me-"Jesus help me, thank you that you love me no matter what, come into my heart, I am sorry for my sins against you, not believing and even telling one lie, help me do better and be my friend, amen."
Jesus said "I love you and knock to come into your heart door, forgive for sins and be your friend, if you ask me in." Revelation 3 vs 19&20
now Jesus helps me alot and He is my best friend.
have a good day and praying for you too, David

Of course not. Why would that offend any Christian? And the Bible says: "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear." Wish more people would ask us and then we'd have opportunity to testify of our salvation experience. Good question.

Well, it's like asking "Mam/Sir, Pardon me but do you suffer from schizoid delusional mental disorder"?
I would not mind if you asked me that. I would probably burst out laughing....

um... I dont think so... but seeing how the other person responded, Im thinking Im missing something to the question...
but, no, I dont think its wrong to ask someone that, I ask other people if they are LDS, and the ones who aren't have never gotten offended or anything... like, if someone asked me if I was jewish, or catholic. I wouldn't be offended

I don't think so. If you're asking, it must be because that person is doing something to make you question his or her belief. I'd just be careful about how I ask.

Absolutely not...it's a great idea. Many people go to church yet have never ask Jesus into their hearts as Lord and Savior. Feel free! I personal would welcome the question.
