It doesn't have a lot of calories, and it's chock full of good things -- AND it's very yummy! (Try agar-agar and canned fruit, or rehydrate some seaweed and put it on top of salad with a viniagrette.)

Susun Weed is a respected herbalist, and her article here is a good summary of seaweed benefits (it mentions metabolism) and has some seaweed recipes.

Drink green tea in the morning. The antioxidant in the green tea is very good for losing weight and gaining metabolism.
NEVER skip breakfast
drink water with a slice of lemon in the morning
cayenne peppers
exercises such as swimming or running is great
eat 4-6 small meals a day-if you eat three big meals a day, your body would be put into a starvation mode so it turns everything you eat into fat
