Honestly, from my point of view, it depends how well you want your registry fixed and how advanced of a user you are. I did that once, and on mine, a good portion of 'em were entries that should stay, despite what any registry checker says. So it's up to you if you wanna do a total fix of your registry if you don't know exactly what it's doing.

No - Registry Cleaners flag good items as bad, unless you have good working knowledge of a computer the Registry is the last place to mess around in - even experts avoid it unless absolutely necessary
"The trial version detected 1034 errors on my computer.
"
That's a sales pitch , don't fall for it

It's probably lying. Half of the things these programs detect aren't even really errors. You're much more likely to screw up your computer by purchasing a program that toys with the registry.

The registry contains tons of essential informations and registry files to allow your system to run as it is supposed to. Meddling with it is one big risk you gonna take. Think about it, if registry mechanic has reported so many errors in your registry, shouldn't your system be crashed by now? It's just another sales gimmick, I guess. Why not get some books on computing information to learn about them? Being the informed consumer is always the best way out. =]
