I been told that my kitchen countertop is something called Korean top? And is an expensive material and may crack if it is cut to remodel to fit in my new cooker hob. I havent been able to find a contractor is willing to do it for me? Any suggestions?

Because Korea is soooo far away LOL
sorry, couldn't help it.

Yes Corian counter tops are very hard and difficult to cut. You generally need a "wet" saw to do it well. Contact a Corian or granite counter top fabricator in your area. They have all the tools needed to do the job right.
Good Luck

Try searching for Corian. I saw one hit on the Bob Vila site (took forever to download!) where a guy recommended using a carbide blade to cut it. But Corian is very expensive, and if your contractors won't touch it, I wouldn't try it.

Is it possible that you could sell it, and buy a new countertop? I've heard there's some companies that deal with recycled housing materials. You could also donate it to a charity like "Habitat for Humanity."
