If you had an aquaintance who was seeing someone who'd been abusive in the distant past(like 10 years ago), would you try to warn them?

Dude just hooked up with this woman, I used to live with her. She's abusive, selfish, lazy, and just doesn't think straight. I'm in a healthy, loving relationship, and I really don't bear any grudge toward her, but I feel like I need to warn this guy, who is, for now, extremely happy to be with her (starting off same as the guy who's life she ruined 10 years ago).
Should I warn him and if so, how?

You might want to hint about her temper, but people do change. Give her an opportunity to show herself. At the first sign of abuse, he should be told immediately.

I do not know people change over time and 10 years is a long time. If you decide to warn him let him know it was 10 years ago so he knows.

You can't try to warn him. If he loves her enough to be with her, he won't want to listen to you about it. But when the time comes and she starts the old cycle up again, if he comes to you then just listen and be there for him. Don't do the whole "I told you so" thing. You just need to listen and be there for him when he needs you.

I would tell him that if he wants to date her then he should, BUT I would tell him the situation when you lived with her and what you think. I would just tell him to be careful and that you are only telling him for his own good and ask wouldn't he tell you the same thing if it were the other way around?

HELL YES. atleast id want to. don't tell him to break up with her, but warn him what your experience was like with her and tell him to get not too attached, until she shows her true self. and thats all you can do, most likely he'll throw it out the other ear but you can later say "i told you so"

Yes just tell him what you know and have him ask her about it as if he didn't hear anything from you and tell him to be carefull and on the lookout

I happen to like abusive women.

As long as she's hot, she can do whatever she wants!
