Also, was it an ngrc registered track?

Thanks for the answers so far.

The rescue that I got my greyhound from told me that he was found as a stray. I traced his history through his ear tattoo and found he used to race at the MK dog track, and his last recorded race was not long before he was picked up as a stray.

I know many dogs are discarded by the racing industry, but what seems strange to me is that he WON his last race. We've had the dog a while now and he's showing no obvious sign of injury, so I was wondering why he'd been thrown out (and if the date of the track's closure coincided with him being dumped).

According to the website I was looking at a couple of days ago it is now closed. I don't know precisely when this happened.
Nearest greyhound track after that would be Romford I guess.
