It would help to have a little more information about the speaker and what its symptoms are, but from the story you tell it sounds like your woofer needs re-coning. Your effort to use glue makes me wonder if it does not also need the foam surround replaced due to unrelated foam rot (perhaps not). Foam surrounds are easy to replace but I think you should take the speaker to a reputable speaker repair shop for re-coning. If you can not find a speaker repair shop listed as such in the phone book, call a reputable local audio store and ask who they recommend. Be sure to get an estimate before having any repairs done. I suspect they will cost more than the speaker is worth. If accidentally pressing the loud button caused your speaker to blow, it sounds like it is not worth a great deal of money (due to being either small, low quality, old, or some combination of these). You can replace the woofer, although if you do your speakers will no longer precisely match. If you shop around you may be surprised at how inexpensive it is to replace your speakers if necessary, although I think you will agree that the really cheap speakers are no bargain in the long run. Used speakers can sometimes be a bargain but if you go this route stay away from the really old ones and be sure to inspect and test the speakers carefully. Used speakers frequently need repairs themselves.

it's very possible it is not the voice coil at all, but in fact the crossover network inside the speaker, especially if there is no sound at all. take out the drivers and look for a circuit board type thing, normally the cappacitors will completly shatter or "pop". if this only happened to one, you could look at the other speaker to see the cappacitor size and re-solder a new one to the board. (not as hard as it sounds) the capacitors are fairly small and only cost a buck or two from radio shack or teh link below. you can also test this by connecting speaker wire directly to the driver itself, you should hear noise. all else fails you could buy a new crossover.

Swapping out a speaker isn't the hardest thing to do in the world.

If you remove the offending speaker, look for any identifiable numbers and manufacturer names and google "replacement speakers" along with the info. Depending on the type and brand an aftermarket speaker may be a cheaper option than taking it to someone to repair.

You blew the voice coil of the speaker so it cannot be repaired. The only thing you could do is find a replacement. If you puncture a speaker silicone would work for repair but once you fry the voice coil it's done.

Sound's like the voice coil has been damaged as well as the diaphragm .You may be able to have it repaired but it will cost money. Sorry but i don't think there are any options unless you replace the unit with a new one.
