They are monotheistic but at the same time very different. The fundamental teachings about the relationship between God and man are very different. The love of God and intimate relation with man in Christianity is not found in any other religion.

From what I've researched Christianity and islam come from Judaism.
Judaism predates both of them.
Christianity includes the torah and the writing of the respected prophets of the jews along with the new testament from the life of Jesus and the story of the first churches and their struggles. After that it talks about the second coming of Christ.
Islam comes from where Ishmael (half jewish, half egyptian)got banished from the tribe of Abraham because of his conflict with Issac. Ishmael became the founding fathers of the arabs and later his descendent was mohammad who said after spending several days in the desert allah gave him the book of Koran.
Unlike the Bible it does not have any jewish writing but in fact mentions the birth of Christ and acknowledges him.
It also included the jeehad which justified mohammad to attack his home town where he went back to. When no one accepted what he claimed he went back again and had everyone killed. However many muslims deny that part of the book and say that they only believe the peaceful parts.
Hope that helps.

Check out the link listed below on the dates of 9/17/06 - 10/08/06 for a series titled The Star, the Cross, and the Crescent. This is a great historical breakdown of how Christianity came about from Judiasm and where Islam started and how it grew. This is a remarkably balanced explanation of the origins of each and tackles issues such as histories of atrocities brought about by each religion, (think crusades and tribal wars), founders intent, etc.

Islam was more the adoption and adaption of a familiar religion to the area's political needs. The Arabs needed some form of rule that would give them a court system and legal structure. Judaism came preassembled. A little coat of white wash, some rule changes, and up popped Islam.
Christianity was different. One of the many mystery cults of the Roman Empire gained ascendancy, was made the state religion and it's leaders simply set out to eliminate all opposition. Chrustianity is only slightly modelled on Hebrew religion and owes much more to the Hellenic religions around it.

Christianity Split from traditional Judaism when followers started believing that Jesus was the Messiah foretold by old testament prophets. Most Traditional Jews did not believ he was the Messiah and simply kept following Old Testament Law... that's the split between Christianity and Judaism. This split started when Jesus was still alive.
Islam simply believed that Jesus was a prophet, much like they believe Muhammed was a prophet. The Koran has alot of Old Testament law in it word for word from what Christian Bible Old Testaments have. They share more in common with Judaism than with Chirstianity.

They don't. Judaism was founded by Moses, Christianity by Christ, and Islam by Muhammad. All of these men said there was a certain way to get to God. The western religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam all want to get close to God, but the Eastern religions tend to believe that we are God on the inside.

Yes it is not an "if" ,indeed Judaism,Christianity and Islam have the same roots that is praying to Allah the only one God (monotheism).These religions were given by Allah in line with the development of its society at that time.Allah has updated and completed the life guide of Torach by giving Bible . Then
Allah gave the last updated and completed life guide in the holy Qur'an.But the followers of Judaism did not want to accept Bible and the followers of Judaism and Christianity did not want to accept Qur'an too..They did not acknowledge our last prophet Muhammad pbuh because this news had been deleted in their holy books .If they will receive the Islam
with the holy qur'an and its hadith this world will be more peaceful.Islam is a peaceful religion.But they accused mus lims as terrorists because they are anti Islam.We respect them as sisters and brothers from Adam and Eve .We do not want to follow their faith and we do not force them to follow our faith too.Their religion is theirs and our religion is ours.

While Christianity was based on Jewish foundations, the movement led by Christ was heavily influenced by centuries of Hellenization, and was better suited to the Diaspora than to the Jews of Judea and Babylon. Christians believed that Jesus was the Messiah, and so further alienated themselves from the various mainstream Jewish sects. Because of these and other factors, Christianity initially appealed to Jews of the Diaspora and their "God-fearing" Gentile allies. In the late first century, Christianity caught on among the rural well-to-do Romans, and gradually became a predominantly Gentile movement. Nevertheless, Christians regularly met (peacefully) in Jewish synagogues for many centuries.

When God had pre ordained his will he knew that he was sending his son Jesus into the earth at the appointed time to save mankind and GIVE THEM HIS SPIRIT! Now he has some conditions to receive his Holy spirit and the one condition is that you believe in the Name of Jesus and that God resurrected him by that spirit, and the Muslims don't believe that and have not received his holy spirit and the Jews, the bible says that God has hardened their hearts for a time period so the Gospel of Jesus could go around the world and then he will awaken them. here this is how you get this spirit;
