We wrote twice, I wrote twice, then invited him for coffee. Hey, those people more than anyone can appreciate life as a temporal universality. Why wait, for what reason? GET on it!
p.s. I like Trisha's answer.

You should ask her for coffee the next time you e-mail her. Just bring it up, don't say it like it is something that she HAS to do. Make the time and place up to her. There is so much you can learn by talking to her in person then there is e-mailing. I have had many good friends that I've chatted with and e-mailed, and I thought we would go perfect together, and then I would hang around that person and things were totally different they from what I expected. I wished I wouldn't have gotten my hopes up so high. Just be friends. If you think you 2 could be more then friends then be open about it and talk with her.
Good Luck, Its never easy!

Gus2222 has an excellent point. I have done the same, where I communicated over email or IM and when I finally met the person there was nothing there.. Nothing but what my built-up fantasy of them had been... And then I had good experiences, too. So I say if you have been communicating this long via email, and you want to ask her, ask her. And good luck...

Negative two weeks from now.
I was e-mail buddies with a very pretty Ph.D. student for about all of a week before I asked her to coffee. Now we like each other more and have been on a few dates. Do it man!

I have never understood this new thing of asking someone out for coffee, it makes a man look like he is to cheap to spring for dinner, if you like that much ask her out for dinner.

You can ask her now. She's probably wanted to have coffee with you when she gave you her email address.
Good luck.

Depends how important she is to you.
You do care - You have a heart and love her
or
You do not care - You are dishearted and don't like her
