Not by much and in the case of English and social studies it won't help you very much.

You are thinking of sleep-learning and if you do that it might help you a little, especially with dates and figures. However, you would probably do better by re-copying your notes and then rereading them in the morning.

It has been proven that you retain information the best when you read it in the morning. It has also been proven that the addition of Vitamin E to your diet will help to improve your memory. Fish is a great source of Vitamin E; there are supplements and a lot of other foods that carry it. There has been no test on therapeutic levels so I can’t tell you how much to take or if it will even work in your case.

According to Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_learning
“Sleep-learning (also known as hypnopædia) attempts to convey information to a sleeping person, typically by playing a sound recording to them while they sleep.
This technique is often moderately effective at making people remember direct passages or facts, word for word[citation needed]. However, there is little to no evidence that a person undergoing hypnopædia is actually learning anything in the sense that the newly acquired knowledge is connected to other knowledge or conceptualized in any way.”

hi,
assuming you listened to the class you taped... playing it while you sleep "could" reinforce the knowledge. give it a try.
good luck!
