Tolerance, my friend.
Friendly Jews tolerated Jesus
Friendly Jews tolerate Muslims
Many Jews tolerate Money
Then, Jews got into the publishing business, and their PR got so much better. Winston Churchill was wrong when he said that the winner of the war gets to write history.
The publicists gets to write it after they editorialize it.
But, who am I to criticize the publicists?

Judiasm is a religion. Jews are also a cultural people, not all of which practice the religion. However- antisemites don't really care and Hitler killed all those who had jewish anscestry, regardless of their religion (except himself of course, who was 1/4 jewish.
So- they are both.
The only people that call Jews 'the chosen' seem to be Christians. It seems to be a half-hearted attempt to not seem so anti-semetic.
Why to outsiders pick on them? well- actually it has been well planned and choreographed by the Catholic church for 1000 years. Not so much recently , but throughout history the terrible lies promulgated by the church are nothing short of pure evil. (look up 'blood libel' for instance, or the forged document 'the protocols of the elders of zion')
Jews are not building a new temple in Israel. There are no plans on doing so. The location of the temple, on the temple mount in the old city is occupied by the dome of the rock- a moslem shrine. Israeli's respect the sanctity of the location for muslims and don't enter it, yet maintain it for Islamic people.
There are only 13 million Jews in the whole world. Perhaps 6 million in the US. So- they are a very small minority. There are 2 Billion christians and 1.3 billion Muslims in comparison. Basically- there are almost no Jews in the world- which makes them the perfect scapegoat.

Jews are not adjectives. Jewish people are Jews.
As a people God chose the Jews so that His majesty and glory would be made manifest to the rest of the world. The first Christians were Jews, and the spread of Christianity in its early days was primarily due to messianic Jews. In fact, all the authors of the Christian bible, save one, were Jews who lived in the days before the Second Temple was destroyed in 70 CE.
But, like all other peoples, they (the Jewish people) are held to the same standards that God holds all peoples to. The Jew must acknowledge Christ as their means of reconciliation with a just God. If Jesus did not fulfill biblical prophecy, if he is not the promised Messiah of Israel, if he was not born of a virgin, if he did not die for the sins of the world and rise from the dead, if he is not coming back as King of all kings to rule and reign here forever- then he is the Messiah and Savior of nobody. He is a false prophet and the writers of the New Testament were either deceivers or deceived. In other words, if Christ is not the Messiah of the Jews then He is not the Savior of the Christians.

1. no difference
2. their actions are watched by the entire Christian world to tell us where we are in the last days.
3. Yes, they are God's chosen people. Chosen to bear the example of the human condition.
4. People generally dislike them because they seem to believe "chosen" means they are better than others. They are not. They are servants of humanity, and actually Jesus says in the afterlife servants will be first.
5. If they are constructing their Temple, it must be underground, under the dome of the Rock. Wouldn't surprise me.
6. USA has a lot of Jews because we allow freedom of religion.
7. God says He will bless those nations that are good to Jews and curse those who are evil to them.

OK -- first of all ... HATE MONGERING and Prejudice is NOT one of the acceptable topics on postings in Yahoo Answers (look at the community guidelines).
Secondly ... why post a BIASED question in the first place (and one based on mis-information and learned prejudice)?
