If you are talking about the white cheese (usually mozzarella) that comes in a small roll with proscuitto in it, you don't cook it. Just cut in slices and serve on crackers, or bread. You might want to melt it until it is just warm and a bit gooey, but if you cook it, it will basically fall apart and ruin it. It's already cooked, ready to eat.

I love serving it on seasoned toasted rounds (when I can find them), and warming it in the oven for just a min or two. And never microwave....it will be a glumpy mess! If it starts loosing it's shape take it out fast! It's also great on a salad with tomatos added, if you like salads.

I find the quality of these vary greatly. Hope you got a great one. Enjoy!

Cheesy Prosciutto Puff Pastry Rounds Recipe

INGREDIENTS:
1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed in the refrigerator
1/2 cup Dijon honey mustard
8 ounces sliced prosciutto
3 Tbsp cream cheese, at room temperature
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
1 egg, beaten with 1 Tbsp water (egg wash)

PREPARATION:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Lightly flour the puff pastry and roll out to a rectangle measuring 9 x 11 inches.

Spread Dijon honey mustard over the puff pastry. Place prosciutto in an even layer over the mustard.

Combine cream cheese, onion powder, and Parmesan cheese, mixing until well-combined. Spread on top of prosciutto layer.

Roll puff puff pastry lengthwise in a jelly roll fashion, pressing to seal the edge. Place seam-side down on a baking sheet. Brush with egg wash.

Bake about 20 minutes, until lightly golden. Let rest 10 minutes, then slice into 1/2-inch rounds and serve.

It is already cooked, so when using it for a rolled appetizer you don't have to cook it again. The way we so ours is with whipped cream cheese and pickled asparagus spears...yum
