Guess what- there's actually a site where you can find dog names... you can even search for girl-dog names or boy-dog names...
http://www.dog-names.us/database.asp
I just tried it... in the first drop-down I marked "Foreign and Ethnic", in the second drop-down I marked "German"...
Here's some I liked.....
Barend means "bear"
Bertram means "bright"
Dutch means "the German"
Geert means "brave strength"
Hank means "ruler of an estate"

We have 2 male german shepards and their names are Trigger and Combat... But it sounds like you are going for unique names. I like Akia..
