The best diet (way of eating) that I have ever done is the Kimkins diet. I started it at the end of August 2006 and my the end of October 2006, I had lost 35 pounds. As of today, I am still maintaining my loss. It's basically a low carb, low fat diet. If you want more information, take a look here http://www.kimkins.com?a_aid=0345e923. Take a look at the success stories. I know they are all true because I have chatted with most of them and even exchanged Christmas cards with them. There is a wonderful forum of supporters on this website that really help each other. Even the woman who created the diet is online helping everyone. The cost to join the website is a one time lifetime fee of around $40. For me it is the best $40 I have ever spent. If you want more info, please let me know I can give you my email address. Good luck with your search.

I am not celiac but i have an intolerance to gluten/wheat and so i had to go on a strict diet a while ago, but it was so successful and it changed my body so profoundly that i have pretty much maintained it - ie. it suited me perfectly.
Basically i ate as much fruit, vegetables, nuts, nut butters, fish, meat, soy products, brown rice, corn and oats as i wanted. Everything else was banned (i had to cut out dairy too, hence the soy products as a replacement).
I was a chocoholic but now i couldnt touch the stuff - too sweet. I started eating dried fruit when i had sugar cravings and now im addicted to it, its so much better! Cranberries, dried mango (amazing), dried pineapple, dates, prunes, theyre so yummy. Especially dates you wont believe how naturally sweet they are. If you're eating dried fruits just make sure they're all natural ones, ie. that they aren't dusted in sugar and artificial sweeteners - that makes em as bad as candy.
So basically fresh fruit, veg, fish and meat (protein) was my main diet. Light snacks = natural peanut butter on rice cakes, dried fruit, soy yogurt, soy cheese etc. Brown rice was my main carbohydrate - it's digested easily but slowly so you feel full for longer, and it's good for you. And cornflakes and porridge etc. are all naturally gluten free so i could have those too (cornflakes are fat-free and yummy at any time of day!)
Anyway, the removal of gluten from my diet led to an immediate change in the way my body worked and i felt so much better in every way. Gluten and wheat intolerance is incredibly common and many arent even aware of it. Some things our bodies simply struggle to digest. And if this happens we get all clogged up and we hold onto weight and fat, then we wonder why it's so hard to shift.
That was a bit of a rant, sorry! Hope it's somewhat helpful!

Cut out junk food.. eat only one small sweet a day because neglecting your sugar or sweet cravings can cause you to binge more. Eat what you would normally eat, but stop eating ONCE YOU ARE SATISFIED. I lost a good amount of weight in a short period of time ( healthy weight... I also exercise for I am a soccer player..) just by eating slower and stopping as soon as I am satisfied.. and I dont mean when you are so stuffed that you can't eat anymore, but to the point where you are not hungry, nor stuffed. ... It worked for me anyways..

Atkins diet is the only diet that I could stick with and not feel hungry and lost a lot of weight. You don't feel hungry because you don't count calories so don't have to limit the amount you eat, only the carbs.
