The New Testament was completed before 100 AD. The last book to be written was the Book of Revelation by the Apostle John then. The complete Bible took about 1600 years to write with a 400 year period between the Testaments. Since it was completed about 100 AD aqnd this is 2007, it is about 1900 years old. Why do you ask? Have a great day and a wonderful week.
Thanks,
Eds

It all depends upon what you mean. The first 5 books were written by Moses about 1500BC or so and other books have been added up until around 100AD. The Old Testament writings end around 400BC and the New Testament writings start around 45 or 50AD. Some scholars say that the book of Job may actually be the oldest book and was written before 1500BC.

Christ did not say, "Sit down and write Bibles and scatter them over the earth, and let every man read his Bible and judge for himself." If Christ had said that, there would never have been a Christianity on the earth at all, but a Babylon and confusion instead, and never one Church, the union of one body. Hence, Christ never said to His Apostles, "Go and write Bibles and distribute them, and let everyone judge for himself." That injunction was reserved for the Sixteenth Century, and we have seen the result of it. Ever since the Sixteenth Century there have been springing up religion upon religion, and churches upon churches, all fighting and quarreling with one another, and all because of the private interpretation of the Bible.
Christ sent His Apostles with authority to teach all nations, and never gave them any command of writing the Bible. And the Apostles went forth and preached everywhere, and planted the Church of God throughout the earth, but never thought of writing.

The books of the Bible were not put into one book until the third century. They existed but were on scrolls. It was St. Jerome and other scholars who determined the canonical books for Christians.
Catholic have I believe 7 more Old Testament books than Protestant bibles. However, Protestants still accept the books that St. Jerome said were valid in the New Testament. We are in agreement.
Now, in some of the older Catholic Bibles before Vatican II, some of the titles of the books (particularly in the Old Testament) were different.
King James Version had 1st & 2nd Solomons and 1st & 2nd Kings. Catholic version had 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Kings. 1st Solomon in KJ version was the same as 1st Kings in Catholic version, 2nd Solomon in KJ was same as 2nd Kings in Catholic version. 1st Kings in KJ version was the same as 3rd Kings in the Catholic version, and 2nd Kings in KJ version was the same as 4th Kings in Catholic version.
Titles in the New Testament were the same except Revelation in the Catholic Bible was called
Apocalypse.
