Got a Macintosh? If so, just select Print, and in the print dialog box click on the PDF button and select "Save as pdf..." then click ok.

This is my personal experience i am sharing with u... My father too needed such a software to convert word document into PDF. I downloaded Promo PDf file.... Its easy to use. Only drawback is that in Excel sheet it converts each sheet in a workbook separately..

U can download Primo PDf from http://www.primopdf.com/ Its free. Just follow its instruction.

You could migrate/open those documents via Openoffice as it has a function that exports those files into PDF format, and also it's free.
