What happened to it? I am not sure what you're talking about. I still have a strong sense that it exists.

Humility is something you can only possess when you first acknowledge that there is something out there which is greater than yourself. People today have been fed so much garbage about how they are "Number One", that humility is a lost concept. "You deserve a break today"...."Have It Your Way"...."Look Out For Number One". We live in the most me-centric society in history.
You can see it in the posts in this forum. Every atheist out there is proclaiming that it's their life and they'll do whatever pleases them....forget morality, they invent their own....forget God, they are a god unto themselves. Sadly, I don't see humility making a comeback any time soon.

Truly humble people are all around us. As always, they are just hard to see in the middle of prideful people.
Humility is the virtue which acknowledges that all we have and all we accomplish is God's work not ours.
The opposite of humility is the sin of pride. Pride in yourself is undue self-esteem or self-love, which seeks attention and honor and sets oneself in competition with God.
Pride in things like your heritage, your nation, and your children are just being thankful for gifts from God. These are not the sin of pride.
With love in Christ.

Humility is surely the most unfashionable of virtues, but it is precious in the sight of God. We would all do well to cultivate more of it.
