I do not wear shoes in my own home. Just think of all the dirty and disgusting things that are on the ground. Do you want that stuff in your home. I don't.
I usually ask people whom I know well to take their shoes off when they are in my home. If I'm having someone whom I have never met before, or someone whom I'm trying to make a good impression on, I don't ask them. I just do a big cleaning when they leave. However, I don't have too many people like that over.
If someone asks me to remove my shoes in there home, I do not get offended. I actually like it, b/c I know that this person sees the issue in the same way. I tend to find, those who have the no shoes in the house rule, generally have cleaner homes.

I don't like shoes in my house, and my fellows know that so they tend to bring slippers if they are intending on staying for a long visit. I know that some peopel have foot problems etc, but I really prefer shoes not to be worn indoors on my carpets etc as there are many illnesses that can be caused by things you can pull inside from your shoes.
I follow the Japanese way, I guess. I do takee slippers with me to hotels and other people's houses as a common courtesy and understand that some people don't. I just got into the habit as it's more hygeinic than walking around barefoot or in your socks indoors. you can pick up some nasty foot infections by walking barefoot indoors or out!
I think that it is only hygeinic to have seperate indoor and outdoor footwear, and ask that all outdoor footwear be removed at my door. Plus, I think lots of people agree, it's more comfortable to wear slippers ^_^

Yes, I wear shoes indoors. I am fine with people wearing shoes in my house. I will remove my shoes if my host requires that I do ( so I make sure to wear socks with no holes in them).

No shoes allowed in my house. I have wall-to-wall carpeting that I want to keep clean. Not to mention, I hate both shoes and slippers. I like to walk around the house in my socks.
At other people's houses, I prefer to be in my socks. It's more comfortable, and I'm used to it because that is what I do at my house.

I don't wear shoes anywhere, but I would never ask people to take off their shoes when visiting me. I don't want people to tell me what to wear on my feet; why should I try to tell others? Many people are just as uncomfortable without their shoes as I would be with them.
Only if they had very muddy shoes I'd ask them to take their shoes off, but if they'd rather rinse them at the outside hose that'd be fine too, it'd be the mud I objected to, not the shoes. Normal levels of outside dirt, that's what the doormat & the vacuum cleaner are for.

I do not allow shoes inside my house. I make everyone take their shoes off before they come inside. Whenever I go to anyone elses house I always ask what they would like me to do. Some of my friends I know have a shoes off rule too so I just slip my shoes off. I always offer to take mine off and tell them that it is a rule in my house so I am more comfortable without shoes on. Whenever I go inside I just take my shoes off and walk around in my socks.
