3 'And God made in six days the works of his hands; and he finished them on the 'seventh day, and he rested the seventh day, and sanctified it.
4 Consider, my children, what that signifies, he finished them in six days. The meaning of it is this; that in 'six thousand years the Lord God will bring all things to an end.

I'm not 100% sure if that is the only reason why Barnabas' Epistle was not included, but it is definitely safe to say that those verses are part of the reason. Many epistles and even some gospels were dropped because they were considered subversive to what the political body of the Church wanted to promote. However, many of these same epistles and gospels reveal the hidden mysteries of Christ.
