Who knows!? Apparently they make up their own rules on whats a sin.

Although the Bible does somewhere say "man shall not lie with man", I don't think it's meant to be taken literally. Leviticus said some weird things too... i don't know what they would consider to be a sin, as I'm not a gay man, however, it sayd nothing in the Bible about woman laying with woman, so I'm safe either way.
Secondly, what the Bible says was written for its time. Consider that the sexually transmitted diseases then were more of a problem than now. And the chances of catching a disease (and a more nasty one at that) are higher if it is two unprotected males. But now... believe it or not we either have cures or preventions (I mean, come on, the people didn't have proper protection in those days- in fact it was the Egyptians who invented condoms). So we have to remember that the Word of God should change throughout time, as God changes his work too.

I think that if you are gay and in love, then everything's good, and you can't consider love as a sin. That's my opinion anyway. ^_^

Let's be realistic.

There's plenty of sexual sins to go around ... for both the homosexuals and the heterosexuals.

According to God, these same rules apply to everyone:

No extra-marital sex.

No living together outside of wedlock.

Sex, only for the purposes of marital love, unity, and procreation.

For both groups, forgiveness of sins requires a sincere and contrite apology to God, coupled with true, authentic repentance.

Why can't "gays" be Christians?

It seems like they have a lot in common with the rest of us.

We're all repeat sinners, and we all need Christ as our redeemer.

I'm not gay but will point out something that I believe to be much worse. Confessing your sins to a sinner on earth who has no authority from God instead of following the word of God.

"Let us, then, hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we have a great High Priest who has gone into the very presence of God - Jesus, the Son of God. Our High Priest is not one who cannot feel sympathy for our weaknesses. On the contrary, we have a High priest who was tempted in every way we are, but did not sin. Let us have confidence then, and approach God's throne where there is Grace. There we will receive Mercy and find Grace to help us just when we need it." Hebrews 4:14-16.

I don't know. There are gays who think they are Christian, and they could be even, BUT I believe that if they are truly Christian, they must be ignoring God's calling to get that sin out of their lives, because as a Christian it is too hard to keep on sinning and not be convicted of it.

Matthew 5:31-32, from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount states: "It has been said, 'Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.' But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery."

So does every divorced person who is remarried and is sexually active with their spouse consider themselves still Christian? What do they consider to be a sin?

I'm not gay, but I don't consider being gay to be a sin. Rape, murder, child molestation, child abuse and neglect, screwing other people over just to get what you want, those are sins. Consensual sex with someone over the age of 18 in no way compares to the things I just listed.

Do me a favor, go back to your Bible and read just the part that Jesus said. You will find that the Son of God himself doesn't really care who you have sex with. It's just the men who wrote the old testament and Paul (you know, the man who never even met Jesus) that say it's a sin to be gay. I don't think Jesus would be very happy with the climate of hatred so called "Christians" have built in HIs name.

I am not gay but, I would like to think a homosexual would answer that the scriptures recognize simply being a human being whether gay or not is a sin in God's eyes, with the exception of Jesus.

Why couldn't gays be Christians? I am a heterosexual woman. I am also a Christian. I am ALSO a Sinner. NONE OF US IS FREE FROM SIN - NO ONE. Does me being a sinner mean that I do not know what Salvation is or that I am not saved? NO. One form of sin is not greater than another.
