I can't remember specifics, but I've read that book, and no, I personally wouldn't reccomend it. I don't remember sex, or drugs, though. There may be some language issues, nothing intense, but I still wouldn't- hope this helps, sorry to be vague. I just don't think the "attitude" it portrays is appropriate, for older girls or women it's funny & great, though, so if the 14 year old is mature, then maybe...

It is a great book for a fourteen yr old. There is some swearing but it's not that bad. It is about a nanny who gives us a glimpse in to what being a nanny is really like , all the troubles she goes through and being used by the family. I just finished it and I loved it.

If you are worried about what your daughter reads, then you should read the book first. But I remember being 14 and I read a lot of books that my mother never knew I read. Just make sure you keep the lines of communication open and let your daughter know that she can talk to you about that kind of stuff. You can let her know that you don't want her reading certain books, but if she's 14 you can't really stop her from reading them.

I thought it was good. Basic synopsis is, this girl takes on a job as a nanny, is poorly treated by her employers (overworked, underpaid, kids' parents not coming home at times requested when the nanny had other things she had to do, and eventually a nanny cam). In the beginning she really hates the very bratty kid but she grows to love him. It's a pretty good book, really.

Why dont you simply read the book yourself? You could borrow it at your local library. Our school encourages parents to read the older fiction that year 7 students can borrow at their school library. You can look the book up on the internet.

While it isn't a bad book at all, it does have its share of sex (in the form of adultery) and the general mistreatment of your fellow human beings. A good read. Open up the lines of communication and read it yourself then discuss it with her.

There is mention of affairs and some cursing but other than that, no violence or descriptive sexual acts. 14 may be young though....
