It's one think to believe being gay is a sin. It's another to attempt to crush any semblance of happiness for gays. Opposing equal protection laws and not just marriage but any legal recognition of gay relationships what-so-ever. Lots of things are considered sins from gluttony to pre-marital sex, yet no one is lining up to pass amendments banning those things and certainly not banning them from getting married.

Well, as a Christian, how can these people feel good about what they are doing? Jesus himself never said anything about who you shouldn't have sex with. I'm sure, being that he's the son of God and all, if it was really that important, he would have brought it up at least once. But no, all he said was to love everybody and not act like homophobes act today. I believe persecution of gay people is way more of a sin that being gay is.

There are people lining up to ban gluttony and pre-marital sex. Your question is a little hard to answer. A Christian would not define peace or happiness in the same way an unsaved or non-Christian would. In other words, if you felt that someone you loved was going to do something that they would eventually regret, no matter how tough it was to make the right decisions you would try to do so, even if they thought you were ruining their happiness at that time.

The label "GAY" used to mean happy. Man changed the meaning, man is not perfect. Jesus bled and died for our sins,
He spent His time with thieves, prostitutes, liars and the likes of these. Haven't we all sinned in one way or another? That is why Jesus died on the cross, for us, let anyone out there who hasn't sinned cast the first stone against someone who is in sexual sin. Nobody is made righteous except by the blood of Christ who washes our garments white are snow. If the Bible says that fornication, adultery, intimency in a sexual way of anykind out of weadlock is a sin and we claim to beleave the Bible as God's Word and claim to be Christians, we have our own sins we must repeant and turn from, more than enough to be worrying about what sins someone else has committed. If the Bible says gay relationships are wrong and a sin and someone engages in these activities even after claiming the are Born Again, they must seek repeatance and help to turn from this wrong way of life. A true Christian would not try to make it harder on someone who has sin in his or her life, they would help them, hold them accountable unto themselves to turn from WHATEVER the sin is and most importantly they would and should love that person LIKE JESUS WOULD. Listing other peoples sins doesn't give any of us the right or the excuse to continue in our sins. You will know a true Christian if he or she live and act as Jesus did while here on earth. It's not the Christians vs Gays, it's people who should on both sides seek the answers in God's living word, The Holy Bible. I love people not because of who or what they are but because when I didn't deserve love, Jesus loved me and now I want to share that love with others. Jesus reaches for the hurting and despises the proud.
He loved the poor, hurting, sick, abused and outcast. That's who He came for, that's who a true believer will want to help, not make life harder for them. He came to set the captives free. My job is not to judge, it is to love, in the way Jesus did. Anyone claiming to be a Christian who's message is not about the Agape Love of Jesus and The Gospel may need to look within themselves and pray, listen and wait for God to guide their path. That's my long answer.

My short answer is: No I being Being a Born Again Believer, do not feel righteous for making anyone feel bad or making anyones life harder. If I am doing that, then I'm the one that better take a look on the inside and ask for forgiveness.

I personally don't care what Gays do. I don't really agree, but I also do things that others may or may not agree with. And you are right about one thing, sin is sin, no one is bigger than another. Nobody should be judge or jury, its not our place. Besides all of this has to come to pass , either way, its gonna happen.

Roger: As a Christian, nothing irks me more than "Christians" in his or her "holier-than-thou" attitude leaning on gays. I'm not gay but do believe that those who do not agree with their [gays] choice of life-style, should back-off and go and do something in the lines of service to those in need. It is God's job to judge others outside the Christian faith - not "Christians". A real, genuinely converted Christian would not even, attempt to dump on gays. One thing Jesus Christ condemned was spiritual arrogance and self-righteousness - a very all-too common trait of "Christians" having the essence of Christianity but lacking the substance, thereof ! Christianity is what one IS - not what others are NOT !!!

What you are saying is very true and as in all different types of religions there are misguided people who feel that these fights are necessary. In reality as a Christian you are responsible for YOUR actions not everyone elses including lying, greed and such. Respect and love for a person no matter what is called for and because of this just as Christians are prejudging for example gay relationships others in the world are doing the same to Christians on their beliefs.

As a Christian I could not take the happiness of anyone, let alone someone with alternative sexual preferences. Who am I do deny happiness - in whatever form they want? In America, a supposed country of equality, if straight couples can get married, why can't gay couples?

You are in control of your own happiness. I'm not a gay basher. My father taught me to respect everyone who is respectable. However, I don't believe for a minute that gays are so oppressed. Gays have sex parades down main street where they do things which straight people have never been allowed to do in public. Gays have their own TV shows. Gays have their own nightclubs. Many high profile celebrities are openly gay. If Christians don't like it you're free to ignore them.

It's true that gay marriage isn't allowed but you're still free to live with whoever you want. Trust me when I tell you that marriage is not a guaranteed ticket to happiness. Ask anybody who's been married for five years.

Exactly. Why don't the hetero Christians attempt to write laws and Constitutional amendments banning the sins they commit? I mean it's all about the sin, right?

Well that would be being judgemental if you're opposed. Unless of course you're not opposed and you're just trying to crush someone's happiness for your own pleasure.

Christians aren't supposed to be judgemental. They're supposed to love, even if what others are doing is considered "wrong" in their beliefs. I believe the whole Christian message comes down to love.
