If there is no God, then where did the first human come from and something as complex as the human body could not have evolved from anything else. Do you think something as mysterious as the universe and all the planets could have been produced by a big bang? I am just curious as to what you think your purpose is for being on earth and where is your soul going after you die? I hope you change your mind before it is too late......

ALL OF YOU HAVE SERIOUS PROBLEMS...GOD CREATED THE EARTH AND EVERYTHING IN IT...INCLUDING ALL OF YOU. NONE OF YOU UNDERSTOOD THE QUESTION. YOU DO HAVE A SOUL AND IT WILL GO TO HEAVEN OR HELL WHEN YOU DIE AND THE REASON I KNOW IS BECAUSE THE BIBLE SAYS SO AND IT IS THE INSPRIRED WORD OF GOD. I WILL NOT BE ASKING ANYMORE QUESTIONS ON HERE AND I AM SURE THAT WILL MAKE YOU PEOPLE HAPPY...LATER

One day all you will see that there is a God. What if He is real...then what will you do or say to Him when you meet Him face to face...I will pray for all of you who do not believe. God Bless. I am sorry for starting such a ruccous.

You asked a very good question. I'm surprised at all the weird answers. I believe in in God and the bible. But why so many who do not. My mom is that way too. I hope she learns the truth before it's too late.

Oh, where to start?
Obviously, something as complex as the human body could evolve from something else, because the evidence says it did. The fact that you exist shows that humans evolved, and fossil and DNA evidence proves that humans evolved from less complex creatures. All creatures on this planet (including us) share a common ancestor.
The evidence for the big bang is also very strong. In 1948 the existence of cosmic microwave background radiation (CMB) was predicted based on the big bang model. The CMB was discovered in 1964 and corroborated the Big Bang theory. There is no doubt; it happened, and created our universe.
There is no evidence that a magical sky-god created everything. The more we learn about the world and the millions of species of animals and plants on this earth, the more unlikely it becomes that any one "super being" could have created it. In reality, such a being is factually impossible to exist.
As for a soul, there is no such thing as a "soul" that lives in your body and goes to heaven after you die. All of your thoughts and personality originate in the brain (yes, your emotions, thoughts, etc. have all been mapped to certain areas of the brain). When the brain dies, you die.
Living in a world of wishful thinking does not make these facts go away. You can believe that rain is god's tears, but that is not the truth. You can believe that angels hold everyone to the earth, but the truth is that gravity does. And you can believe that god created the heavens and the earth and Adam and Eve were the first humans, but again, you are ignoring the facts. Evolution and the Big Bang are reality; god is total fantasy.

Um, why do you assume that atheists even believe in a soul to begin with?
All the atheists I ever knew (I was one and was engaged to one) dismiss all ideas of the supernatural. Period.
So there is no soul to go on after you die. There is no continuation. Once you die that's it. Your mind stops and you stop with it. One day you just don't wake up.
Most would say that they are here to enjoy life and all it has to offer. That they want to live a good, moral life - because these things make one happy and bring joy and peace. They help others and want to live a life full of everything.
The intricate nature of the universe is very complicated to explain when looking at ideas of evolution and the big bang. From the stand point that if even one tiny molecule was off in the formation of the world none of us would be here.
Some researchers figured out that the probability of the world happening by sheer chance was more then the possibility of having ten strangers sitting next to you who have the exact same DNA profile as you do.
Pretty remote and very unlikely.
I like that subtle preaching there at the end. It's not going to help win them over to Christianity - probably just aggravate the situation more.

I think my soul stays in your imagination.
Could you provide some evidence for your assertion that the human body could not have evolved from anything else? From all the research I've seen, it's extraordinarily likely that it did.
Of course planets were created by the Big Bang, there's very good evidence to explain how that happened.
Have you ever wondered how you know that the bible is the inspired word of God? Is it because the bible says it is? Well then if the bible isn't true, then the fact that is says it is would be irrelevant. Do you see how that works, or do I need to put it in capitals for you?

I don't believe in the Christian God, but I do believe in the God and Goddess. The statements you make have no basis with which to judge. Maybe the body doesn't have a soul, how are we to know either way? The Big Bang is questionable too since any minor science student knows that sound can't travel in a vacuum. So should that mean that we should rename it, maybe... The Big Flash.
I too have asked some atheist friends to answer these and like questions, but who cares. I have my own religion and it is all I need. Now if others would quit shoving their religion down everyone elses throats.

I do not seek to insult your opinion in the following text. Please, just read it and formulate yoyur opinions once completed.
You would have to be a fool not to read into evolution. There is much evidence, and I see no reason God would not have created the concept of evolution to help us along. There is nothing sacreligious about it. The big bang is just a way of describing the fact that before us there was another universe, and everything that eventually became us was in a small, nut sized piece of highly compressed matter (perhaps a black hole).
That black hole then hyper-expanded for some reason and this created a massive amount of energy, which changed into matter as described in E=mc^2. This matter then coagulated and became big clumps of dust which slowly changed into the sun and stars and planets as we know them today. Who is to say that God did not provoke this hyper expansion? We do not say who created the rules of the universe. Perhaps these were made by an omnipotent god. Why not?
There might be a purpose, there might not be one to a person's life. It does not matter. What matters is what purpose you make for your life. Do you help others? You do you teach them as best you can to help them on their way in life? Then you are a good person. This is all that matters. I do not care where my soul goes, as long as with my dying breath I know that I have done what I wanted with my life and did more good than harm.
Please, email me with what you think of my point of view.

Sorry, no matter how many times you say evolution couldn't happen doesn't make it true. It can, it does, it has, and it will happen. Also, planets were not created in the big bang, they came along billions of years later. And that has nothing to do with biological evolution.
Now that that's cleared up, I don't believe in god OR a soul. This question is really all over the place. I don't have a purpose - I'll think of my own purpose. There's probably nothing else coming up after this life, so I'm not going to waste it believing in something that doesn't exist but wants my money anyway.

Ha! the answer is that the soul is passed on by procreation. That is why all (most anyway) living things on this planet seem single minded on reproducing to pass their essence (Soul) on to the future (hence the big bang theory)
The reincarnationists have it wrong it is proincarnation you can only pass forward to maintain the link
somewhere it is written that we were all made in gods image (did he invent cloning ?) is there a message in DNA that we keep passing on? is that the soul ? our purpose ?
so my hypo is;
If you are not asking the question you are part of the problem

No one knows the answers to those questions...you don't have definitive proof about anything yourself...I believe that the big bang started this whole mess and I believe life was created through evolution. I'm not a scientist however so I can't give you scientific facts but if you ask these same questions in the science section I'm sure there would be plenty of knowledgeable people to answer you. But maybe...considering your condescending tone...you are afraid to ask these questions in a scientific forum?

Souls are imaginary. There is no such thing.
Evolution, and of course I do. There is a mountain of evidence.
Yep. The Universe is flying apart as a result, and the echoes of it have been detected.
The only purpose is the one you make and see the first line.
As to the last line hell is imaginary. There is nothing to be afraid of. I am not scared of the Boogie Man either.
