Yes and No...

Strictly speaking, you should not loose more than 2 pounds / 1 kilogram PER WEEK.

However, when one is that morbidly obese, once you start exercising and eating right, you will loose *alot* of mass, water weight, fatty tissue mass (the contents of the cells, but not the cells themselves), etc. But, the rapid loss slows after a couple of weeks.

Someone whom is attempting to loose 50 kilos, if doing it properly, is in for a one year diet / exercise period.

It's only healthy because they're doing it in very controlled conditions under the supervision of professionals. Most people at home can't lose that much weight in a healthy manner, but it's possible.

As long as you are still eating and just working out a ton then yes.
and as long as you weigh as much as the people on the show.

if you are overweight it's fine.

but if you are at a anormal weight and do that you'd be considered anorexic.

if you start a diet and you are overweight, your body will go crazy and you'll probably lose 7 or 10 lbs in the first week. that is why most ppl lose so much on teh biggest loser. their so overweight when they start their bodys not used to the diet change.
it all depends on your body type.

I am not familiar with the program. You can safely lose a pound a week by ingesting 500 fewer calories a day than you burn.

I honestly don't think so. Going to those kind of extremes can cause you to lose lean body mass, lower your metabolism, and damage your body, especially your digestive system. It is definately better to lose weight slowly.
