I have met 3 people, and two of the 3 people were exactly as the described themselves...
The third person that I met had an outdated picture, but I ended up dating them for many months.
Not everyone you meet online is going to hurt you. Actually its not as common as people think to meet someone who is pretending to be someone they are not. Of course you will heard about it when it DOES happen, and that's why people think it's so common.

I'm a billionaire with model looks and the brains of a rocket scientist that was looking for a sensitive person such as yourself. (just kiddin)
Seriously, everyone exaggerates in one way or another or lets you perceive them the way the want to be perceived. Just like in "real life", once you get to know them you learn if they really have the looks, really are that nice, etc.

You bet! I saw the photo of a hot red head and asked her on a date.
When she showed up, she was about 15 years older than the photo she posted and, what is worse, 120 lbs heavier!!!!
I danced a bit with her but it was like trying to move a tree trunk&^*&^^%^$
There you have it!!

Oh Lord yes... and he had nasty teeth... when I got home, I kept looking at the picture and comparing it to the man I met that day, and I didn't see much resemblance... needless to say the date didn't continue, and I didn't persue any sort of communication again.

I was involved with a girl for a long time who claimed to be a pharmacist, in her twenties, never married, and had cancer. She talked about her family, sent me pictures of herself and her family members, and all kinds of things. It turns out she was 59 years old, married, not a pharmacist, and did not have cancer. Everything she had told me about her family was a lie. The picture she sent of herself was really her niece. The pictures she sent of her parents were really her and her husband.

I've met four people from online, and they all were exactly who they said they were.... appearance and attitude. I might have just been lucky though.

IVE MET SEVERAL PERSONS FROM CHATROOMS WHO DESCRIBE THEMSELVES IN SUCH A WAY THAT PERSONS ARE ANXIOUS TO MEET THEM. HOWEVER, WHEN YOU MEET THEM, THEY ARE VERY FAR FROM THEIR DESCRIPTION OF THEMSELVES. MOST TIMES, THEY ARE TIMID MEN WHO GAIN COURAGE BEHIND THE ROOMS BUT IN REALITY ARE REALLY AFRAID TO APPROACH WOMEN.
