No this is not a good idea because unless you use something other than iceberg lettuce you won't be getting any nurtrition from the salad. Also you need plenty of fruits, veggies and some protein etc in your diet. As for a fat free dressing look instead for a low cal dressing as many fat free or low fat have more calories than regular dressing.

Salads are fine as long as you include complete proteins such as low-fat meats (chicken, turkey, fish) and/or dairy products like low fat cheeses and hard boiled eggs (limit yolks!). Plants usually only provide incomplete proteins and need to be augmented by their compliments (use Google and look up incomplete proteins). Nuts and beans combined with grains and greens (use different greens on a rotating basis!) will help complete the proteins (but you need to make a study of the specifics to find combos you like!). Including plenty of veggies in the salad as well as some fruit will make it a more balanced meal. A good multi-vitamin is a good idea as well to make up for some of the lack of variety in a salad diet...
Many makers have good fat-free dressings... I use Kraft myself.

Eating salads is great, but it does not compensate for the proteins you need from wheat, rice, cereals etc.
You need a balanced diet AFTER 5 to 7 days of only salads.
Salad dressings are all fat/oil based.... the best would be a dash of olive oil.
Lose weight faster with a good exercise regime, start with what ever you can do.... increase over time to what the gym recommends...
Don't forget water... we are 70%+ water... tank up always.

Make a big salad with lots of lettuce, veggies, fruit (strawberries sliced are yummy). Add some chopped meat (any kind already cooked will taste great). For dressing use only balsamic vinegar. It has a naturally sweet/tangy taste, you need only as little as a tablespoon or two, it is low in calories and you have eaten a well balanced meal that will keep you feeling full and help you lose weight!

well if you only eat salads and no regular meals, when you let yourself off this diet, you'll gain all the weight you lost back becuase you weren't getting proper nutrition and your body wil store all the fat becuase it will eventually go into starvation mode.
you should eat 2 regular meals, just cut all your portions in half, and then eat a salad for dinner every night.
as for dressings, buy the spray dressings, their only 1 calorie per spray and you only need about 10-15 sprays, so it's only about 15 calories right there. it's healthier than any kind of dressing you could have.

Just make sure that your salads have some good lean protein on them and you should be fine. Protein helps keep you from feeling hungry. Personally I like Raspberry Vinagarette. Just go to your grocery store and look over the types of dressings that they have. Some a low or no fat, but have a high carb count because of added sugar. If you like Ranch, go with a fat free Ranch. If you like French, go with a fat free French.

Why deprive yourself of the foods you love? Just take 2 tbls. of heinz apple cider vinegar in a glass of water before a meal. ACV has 93 vitamins and minerals so you will not overeat and will be in control of your eating. Salads do not provide all the nutritional requirements of the body and you will find yourself hungrier and hungrier until you raid the fridge. ACV cures acne and toenail fungus, dandruff and you definitely lose weight because you will not be hungry. Takes about 3-4 days to fully work. Pretty soon you will not even think about. Yes, eating salads is fine...You also want some beneficial fats, so make up a viniger and Olive Oil dressing...That will keep you healthy while losing weight...If you get starved for protean, just open a can of chilled tuna and dump on your salad...
