Yes, a Doctor of the Church can be the patron saint of something.
St. Augustine of Hippo, a Doctor of the Church, is the Patron of brewers: http://www.catholic.org/saints/saint.php?saint_id=418
For other Doctors of the Church, see: http://www.catholic.org/saints/doctors.php
I cannot find that St Irenaeus is a patron of anything: http://www.catholic.org/saints/saint.php?saint_id=291
With love in Christ.

You can find all that out on the Internet...all saints are not necessarily patron saints, however.

Yes, it's possible, but St. Irenaeus is not one of them.

I don't know. I don't believe in religions, only in the Bible and the teachings of Christ. I do not look to any man to interpret the word of God for me, but rely on the Holy Spirit to guide me in the paths of righteousness. I do not pray to Saints, I find know scripture to back up praying to saints or to the virgin Mary. I pray to The Lord God through Jesus Christ.
Have a blessed Resurrection day children of the Lord!

No such thing as saints...the bible says they die and are conscious of nothing..they don't fly off to heaven and watch over you. The await a resurrection in the last day. Then they will be judged whether they will be allowed to live or be put to death forever.
