Because your treasures are truly in Heaven.
One thing, and only one, in this world has eternity stamped upon it. Feelings pass, resolves and thoughts pass, opinions change. What you have done lasts. Lasts in you. Through the ages, through eternity, what you have done for Christ, that, and only that will last forever.

it is an awesome and freeing feeling. Friendship with the world is hatred toward God. ( see James 4:4 ). The ways of the world are not his ways. I am very happy for you. Contentment is found in the Lord and not of material things of this world. That is why rich stars are lost in their fame and fortune. Their is a hole that cannot be filled without re connecting with Jesus. I am glad your mind is open to the truth. Funny how it happens after you accept. Magical almost. Like it takes FAITH to understand. I wonder if any one else is listening or in this case reading.

You have the Holy Spirit living inside you.
Jesus promised He would send the Holy Spirit to reveal Truth and guide us in our lives.
It's awesome, because the same thing happened to me.
I have never been so peaceful, joyful, free in all my life.
When you give your life to Christ, He makes all things new, the old has passed away.
You're right it is indescribable, and people wonder why we want to share the Good News.
My heart is too small to keep it to myself.
When Jesus sets you free, you are FREE indeed.
Thanks for sharing
Peace in Christ

I'm so glad you're saved. The Bible tells us to be separate from the world, that is secular music, movies, etc. I used to watch soaps for years and I started attending an IF Baptist church and my eyes were opened to just how sinful the soaps are, here I thought it was just "innocent entertainment", but its not. Satan will use anything to hurt us and we have to be careful what we watch, listen to, etc. God Bless

because your newly-emptied mind hasn't the power to realise that it still wants "worldly" things. right now, you are distracted by your newfound fondness for your "good shepherd". however, only sheep need a shepherd to meet their every need. congratulations on becoming a sheep.
in case you missed it, that last part was sarcasm.

well that's the way it's supposed to be. when we live for christ he wants to take away the desire for worldly things. unfortunatly too many of us (myself included) are stubborn and take back our worldly desires and it just causes problems. feel very blessed in your peace

Zealotry and delusion will do that to you.
Its not making you a better person. You are just sacrificing your identity for the sake of your beliefs. Soon enough, you will start seeing every issue in black and white terms. That will make it all to easy for you to judge everyone around you. You will find all the love that you had for your friends and family slip away. Even your love of life will slip away, you will yearn only for being closer to your god. You will find life painful and unsatisfying.
All you will have left is your God. Your obsession.
