A speaker box enclosure is usually made from 4 panels of chip board that are screwed together to form an enclosure. The front panel has holes cut out for the speakers .The surface is then covered with a wood finish veneer to give the impression of a solid piece of furniture .

A molded enclosure is made from polypropylene or fiberglass which is very flexible and can bend into various shapes. Holes are made where the speakers will be attached and the finished product will be one piece with no joins .

Ok, if I understand you correctly it goes like this. A speaker box and a molded enclosure are the same thing. A speaker box is usually just a box with hole,no holes, plexiglass, etc on it and it has a greyish material over it. A molded enclosure is sometimes made out of vinyl and is molded to fit a specific car and can be painted to make it look better than the standard old grey material.

molding is a cheaper way to manufacture a enclosure. Those boxes with a MDF core are a much better step in the right direction.

I bet this is a car job : )

A moulded enclosure is a fabricated enclosure that utilises Fiberglass perspex etc. It takes it serves is perpose sonically. but people opt for specialist enclosures with neons etc for when they want people to go " ooooh" that looks mad"

a Speaker Box is best descibed as a spring.
Without going into to much crap mdf or hdf is the material of chice.
it will be rectangular in shape and vary in size. is may be ported. make sure u have that done by a pro.

Best enclosure is a slightl over sized sealed enclosure (baffle).
Make sure you keep your speaker "paramiters" to the enclosure can be built to spec.
