My 12 year old daughter has some "Good, Loving Christian," working on her at school. She ask me about what I do on here because I've got my Bibles out and told me about the two girls. I told her to give me a question and I'd write it in. She asked me what I had on the screen. It was a Question where one or two of the Christians were being their nastiest. She said, "are they always like that?" I said give me the Question. She did and I typed it in......within 10 minutes I called her back and she read the answers. She asked me to get rid of it.

There is no chance she will listen to Christians for a long time. She asked me what she should do if they wanted to talk to her again. I said, ask them to please stop bothering you and go away from you because you will take it as a threat if they don't. If the girls don't stop talking go to the principals office and call me. Then I will talk about choices with the principal....one of them being assault charges.

Somehow, I'm not surprised. It's good that you're showing your kids the hypocrisy of these nutballs.

Edit: And to the idiots who say your kids shouldn't be allowed to use Answers (and the rest of the Internet, I'd assume) I say this: Only an absolute fool would send their child into this world 'blind'. My kids are allowed to see almost every facet of peoples' stupidity. I'll be damned if I'll let them grow up thinking the world is all peaches and cream. Somewhere, we need to start changing things. I say, a good first step is to look at and evaluate the truth.

How do you know that they were really Christians? I've seen a lot of people on here who claim one thing but who don't seem to live up to their claims about themselves. If you've been here for a while you've probably seen questions about KKK members who claim to be Christians. Characterizing a group of people as a whole because some people say that they belong to it is bigotry. Do you show your daughter news stories of people who are of a different race that have committed crimes and say "Look at what those ______ people are like"?

Just because someone says they go to church doesn't make them a Christian. Being born again by the Holy Spirit who sanctifies believers and makes them more like Jesus over time is what makes a person a true Christian.

Romans 8:8 Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.

Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

To me, it's amazing how you have judged all Christians by the actions of 1 or 2(at their nastiest by your own words). It's almost as if you wanted to lead her from that direction. You say seek the truth and when your child has questions you steer her how you want her steered. You just should have told her, I'd rather you not be a Christian.

It would have been nice if you told her the truth. There are bad folks on both sides of the field. If I had a child, that is what I would have told her.

Peace & Blessings!!

Obviously these ones have affected your daughter badly....I myself am not religious for the very same reason.....Here's an idea to put forth to your daughter.....Allow her or ask her to read as much as she possibly can about different religions over the next four years....then at 16 ask her which religion she has chosen. Its the fairest, most logical way to deal with such a situation, it also gives her the fire power to deal with any nasty little people that come her way.

Without knowing the content it's hard to say.

Without knowing the question it's hard to say.

Christianity is a word that encompasess a lot of different theological and phiosophical views.

Jesus is more cut and dry. Jesus is a lot of work.

Most people don't like to do work so Jesus is not for them.

Jesus isn't for slackers.

It's about going twice the distance for no rewards.

Just ignore them and you become the bigger person out of it. After going to a Catholic Boarding School I have learned its religious people that are the hypocrites. Remember "Thall Shal Not Judge". Christians are so easy to Priech, but where are they to practice ? Remember that Guy Ted Haggard ? Who paid for Gay Sex ? While being against gay marriage !! Disgusting. Just wear a t-shirt saying you believe in Evolution and that will get them to shut-up.

maybe you should keep your 12 year old daughter off a web site where she might offend someone.

Also, I am here on R/S all the time, and it's rare that I see some "good, loving christian" saying anything...I mostly see people bashing god and calling them "bible thumpers" and so on...

also...maybe your email address shouldn't be public, especially if there is a 12 year old in the room....

Accusing people of being Christian - just because they say they is just as ridiculous as calling someone a truck because they wear a Chevy t-shirt.
Jesus said you will know them by............what?
Come on you know................
By their................shirts? No.
By their....................hair? Uh huh.
By their...................Bible? Wrong again.
Jesus said that you would know them by their fruits - in today's lingo - by their actions.
If they're not acting very Christian - according to Christ's standards, not ours, then chances are they may not be what they profess.
Christian means to be Christ-like. It is not about religion - it's about a relationship.
I'm sorry your daughter was hurt by someone claiming to be a follower of Christ, unfortunately not everyone is as they seem.

I'm 13, coming on R&S has made me realize that there are many people who are snide and mean, but you just have to move on.

You should go to the principal. Your daughter is there to be educated, not prosyletized to. No one has the right to harrass your child, period.
