I want to try this line out a girl I know, only casually. We are friendly, but not friends. We just see each other from time to time. She'll ask me how I'm doing, and this will be the answer:

Me: I have good news and I have bad news.

Her: What's the good news?

Me: I found the girl of my dreams.

Her: What's the bad news?

Me: It's you.

An attention getter I'm sure. But is it lame? What do you think?

Dude thats funny, if it is a girl you know and hang out with some then you should definetely try this line out because she will probably think its just really funny and you can joke around. If it is someone you don't know than you can still try but dont be prepared for it to work all the time. good luck man

good question.
it's actually so lame to the extent that you risk your standing in her life. you aren't even friends and you say a hurtful line. whether she has the greatest sense of humour, it'll offend her.
rather you not.
she might treat you like dirt afterwards, and her friends may, too and so on. of course the guys will catch on.
it's the bad kind of attention-getter, you see.

well if you really just want to get a reaction go ahead and try it, its kinda silly, if you are truly interested in getting to know her it's kinda risky since you don't know her well enough you might not get the response you are hoping for and could blow it. Just ask her out for coffee or something casual and get to know her better, use it later when you know she will take it the right way.

Its alright, I wouldn't use it.
&& even if you decide to use it, what if she asks about the bad news first?
