Chalice.

Chalice
The consecrated gold or gilded silver cup used to hold the Precious Blood. Only priests or deacons are allowed to touch the Chalice (though sacristans may in the course of their duties). Pewter Chalices are "okay" for use during times of persecution but, even then, the inside of the bowl must be gilded.

When Mass begins, the Chalice is covered by the folded purificator and the pall

1) No wine became the blood of Jesus. Jesus turned water into wine (one of his miracles).
2) At the last communion he passed round a cup and asked them to drink of the wine in this cup as a metaphor for his blood, and thus remember him.
3) The same cup (supposedly, although not historically confirmed) was then used (empty) to catch the blood of Jesus while he was being crucified.
4) This cup became known as the Holy Grail, although many people now believe the Grail is actually a metaphor in itself for the search for the divine within us all.
I hope that clears things up for you.

Chalice. It is a sacred thing, to drink of the communion cup, and i cannot go into the mystery of faith here as it is a Holy thing, and this is no place for that, as there are enemies here who would pervert such knowledge. Read the 50th Psalm.

Shalom
