Definitely not! It's not love if you do something intentionally that you know would hurt them. If a person TRULY loves someone, they ALWAYS put that person's feelings ahead of their own wants, needs and desires. They are incapable of doing something that awful to that person.

Seems paradoxical, doesn't it? If you love someone, you wouldn't cheat, and if you do cheat, you've basically made a statement about how you feel about your partner. Personally, though, I don't think it's that black and white. Relationships are complicated things between complicated beings. A lot of things happen, emotions and feelings can get tangled up and make a situation stickier... there can be a lot of variables involved.

I would say that a person who does truly love their partner can cheat on them, only because human beings have a capacity for love as well as error.

even if someone truly loves another person it doesn't mean that there isn't the chance they could cheat. i mean there are thousand of reason for people to make mistakes, alcohol, drugs, being messed up and taken advantage of.

if someone truly loves there partner they should be able to forgive them. Although saying that it would probably reap havoc on there relationship if something like this happened.

*Sigh* I wish the answer was No but its simply not that easy. Sometimes when you date someone, your personal values don't match completely. This doesn't mean you dont truly love them or that they truly dont love you. Now to emotionally cheat on someone which is a form of romantic love, then yes that person is not truly in love with their partner. Now physical love or sex is something different. It could mean they arent truly in love or it could mean they are weak. Now what i meant about your personal values not matching, sex and how you go about having sex is a personal value. If sex means nothing to you then you can be truly in love with someone and sleep with anybody. so what does sex mean to you and what does it mean to your partner?

A person who claims to be in love and committed to someone and then cheats on them is more in love with themselves than anyone else.

They may really care, but in the end it will always be about them.

No! I think when a person cheats then that is telling the one they supposedly love that they aren't enough and they aren't in love that much, if you truly love someone you don't cheat on them in my opinion.

Since you say "truly" I would say no... As a guy if some HOT women came on to me and I was already taken but all she wanted was no string sex then it would be hard to say no if I knew no one would ever find out. Since you say the word "truly" a guy should think about what if this happened to him how would he feel, or how much would this crush my girls heart if I do this... That SHOULD make him say no...

No, if you are truly in love with someone else you would not even consider doing something like that.

No. True love is a total commitment to your partner. Total commitment precludes cheating.
