In pilates they tell you to pull your stomache in. Is that the same thing as sucking it in? if not how to you do it?

It's basically the same thing. You aren't sucking in as far as you can though. Try this.

Exhale really large. Now kinda slump a bit. Notice how your stomach is sticking out really far. That trains the muscles to stay like that. You don't want them to do that.

Now push your shoulders back, stand tall and inhale. Now look down. Your stomach is flat and defined. That is how you want it to look. So if you keep it like that when you are working out, you are training your stomach to stay like that all the time.

It tightens the lower stomach muscles, which are the hardest to firm up.

..yeah, thats what i do. so that way i can feel my abs workin!
