If you have read the Bible you would know that it is harder for a rich man to get into heaven than for a camel to go through the eye of a needle. It is not because money is "better" than God, but because the pride of the person thinking they made their own fortune, and they do not need God. There are many people however that are rich that have come to Christ.- but they realized that all the riches in the world will not get them into heaven. I was not a jailhouse conversion either. I was known as the good girl. People would say I was too good growing up- which made it really hard for me to come to Christ- however I realized that I was just as much a sinner as the one in jail , or the Donald Trumps and Bill Gates. God uses anything in our lives to draw Him to us= pride just gets in the way. Who did Jesus spend time with when He was on the earth- the rich kings, no, the ones you call the dregs of society. He ate with sinners and denounced the rich pharisees. Interesting huh? Jesus is never disappointed when a sinner repents- no matter if they are rich, poor, a good girl, or one in jail. ANd for that I am thankful. What are you?

A powerful question. I had to put some thought into answering it carefully. I am a believer and came to know Christ not in a bad time of my life, but in a rather neutral time. I have always been around Christians, but never took the whole thing to serious. Only since I got married have I taken things serious and also learned a lot too. Now, I would be lying to you if I said that I don't struggle today with sin. As with all of us we have missed the mark and fallen short of the glory of God. That is why he died for us. I know that sometimes it seems like people come to know the Lord in their darkest hour, but I guess there is no bad time to accept Christ as your Savior. As far as people on death row, they could continue to reject Christ and would never know the difference until after their death. I think that it takes some pride swallowing to accept him in any circumstance. We are not to judge how these people are looked upon by God, only he will know their true beliefs. One more thing, look up the verses Luke 18: chapters 10 -14 and also Mathew 9: chapters 10 - 12, & Mathew 21:32.

Jesus tells us that He came for the sinner, so, no, it is not a surprise that people come to Christ after the sin. Only, until we realize the horrible condition we are in do we turn to the Savior. Sorry, Jesus loves the dregs of society. If you read the gospels you will see this. He was always "ticked" off with the religious Pharisees. Rich people have a hard time accepting a Savior because they think their money will solve all their problems and give them all they need. That is what I love about Jesus. He helps us poor slobs to live a better life.

God is always calling, it depends who has the spiritual ears to hear.
Sometimes it takes something horrible to happen in someones life to turn to Jesus.
Jesus didn't come just for the donald trumps, or bill gates,
He came for the prostitutes, drug users, the poor, the alcoholics, the murderers, the thieves, even a wretch like me.
It's not up to me to be skeptical about jailhouse conversions,
Jesus know every ones hearts.
Jesus is never disappointed whenever someone comes to Him.
He's waiting with open arms.

Well, the reason that many people convert after they've hit rock bottom is because that's when they see the error of their ways. When people see the consequences of their actions, they make a commitment to change.
As for your skepticism of the sincerity of these conversions... what ulterior motive could a convict on death row have for saying he loves Jesus, and knows the error of his ways? It's not like saying that will get him off scott-free. In Christianity, if you repent sincerely, you're forgiven, reguardless of what you've done (at least, Catholicism)

Wow, this works right in. My 12 year old daughter has some "Good, Loving Christian," working on her at school. She ask me about what I do on here because I've got my Bibles out and told me about the two girls. I told her to give me a question and I'd write it in. She asked me what I had on the screen. It was a Question where one or two of the Christians were being their nastiest. She said, "are they always like that?" I said give me the Question. She did and I typed it in......within 10 minutes I called her back and she read the answers. She asked me to get rid of it.
There is no chance she will listen to Christians for a long time. She asked me what she should do if they wanted to talk to her again. I said, ask them to please stop bothering you and go away from you because you will take it as a threat if they don't. If the girls don't stop talking go to the principals office and call call me. Then I will talk about choices with the principal....one of them being assault charges.
Sorry about syntax and spelling I'm still worked up.
And no, I am not going to name the answerers, but they can come forward themselves.
I skipped a part...one of the loving christian answerers sent an e-mail. She saw that also.

These are your own thoughts, not everyone does this. Thing is Jesus is your only friend who will be there in times of turmoil to come and help, where others have turned their backs or can not help you. It is in our nature to turn to Christ. Also we pray in thanksgiving for the food and necessities we receive, as so many do not have such leisure. There are people that pray day and night for you and I, thanks for them. Remember you will someday be grateful for things, if not now someday. You will hit your knees as we all will or have already done.
God bless us all...

jesus himself came not to preach to the pharisees and the sadducee's those who thought themselves good enough for heaven (but really weren't). jesus came for the tax collectors, the prostitutes, those who knew they had sinned and knew not the way out. those who say that they are worthiest of redemption are worthless, for the son of man came for those who where not worthy. for with his his sacrifice they were made worthy, with his blood they were set free. and the part about bill gates, in heaven the student shall be the teacher, the servant the master. the low shall be brought high and the high shall be brought low.
