Being in high school has no impact on your income tax percentage. It is based on your taxable income and filing status. The more taxable income you have, the more tax you are responsible for paying. See the instructions for form 1040 page 84. Also, check IRS website at www.irs.gov, or call 1-800-829-1040.

People still in high school wouldn't pay any federal income tax if their income was under $5150 for 2006. That most likely fits most high schoolers.

As far as state income tax, it depends on what state you live in.

There isn't one. It depends entirely upon your income. The IRS does not track who is in high school and who isn't so they'd have no way to calculate an average.
