it will cost a little over $6, and depending on traffic, it will take about 5 minutes.

the cheapest way to go from penn station to grand central is by subway. take the uptown 1, 2, 3 train to times square. At times square take the shuttle train to grand central. And all that will only cost you $2 and some free underground shows and it will take you about 5 minutes.

Why do you need to take a taxi? Its a trip uptown on the 2 or 3 and the shuttle train across. Or you can walk it in 20 minutes....but about 5 bucks, depending on traffic

It shouldn't be much (perhaps $6.00 max). Now, depending on the time of day, it could take as little as 7 minutes or about 15 minutes (since both stations are in Midtown and traffic during the day is pretty hectic although both stations are about 12 blocks apart).
