What is the best way to get "extra baggage" or "muffin top" (basically just extra fat) of your hips? I'm eating right. In fact, I'm not eating ANY sweets like ice cream or candy etc. I don't know what to do!

How old are you? That can give info right there. Your parents are right - "dieting" is not good for teens. However a healthy lifestyle is good. I lost my muffin top by following the advice of Dr. Oz. - no hydrogenated oils, enriched flour, unbleached flour, etc. Google him and you will find some great info. Also, too many sit-ups will actually cause your stomach to look bigger. Your abs are a muscle - any increase in muscle mass will make you look bigger. I also try to do a good brisk walk for at least 30 minutes every day. I can go longer if the ipod is cranking, but get the heart rate going. If i don't use a weight workout in the week, I don't lose as fast as if I were to strength train at all. Good luck. It can take just as long to bring it off as it did to put it on. Don't expect a makeover in a week or two. Set a realistic goal for your self. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week - max. But, remember that fat does not weigh much so you might see inches disappearing and not the pounds. That is the hardest thing for me to get through.

You have to eat significantly fewer calories than you burn. And you need to do it for a long time.

The easiest way to eat fewer calories than you burn is to just eat a lot less. You said you are eating "right", and that's good. But when you are eating right, that means you are eating the appropriate amount of food to maintain your current weight. You have to eat a lot less than that so that your body burns the fat depost. It will be hard to deal with being hungry all the time, but there is no other way to lose weight.

You not only need to eat right, but watch the amount you are eating. You need to start walking and exercising. They go together and some people have a much harder time because of their build. Good luck. You are doing something good for yourself.
