Atheist.

Everything but biology. It's been my racket for 20+ years. My kid better be smarter than his/her old man and not get into it at all.

But seriously, if and when I do children I want them to be the best they can be.

Yep. I especially have high hopes that physics will unlock many things in the next few years. M Theory includes causes for the Big Bang and matter and every force we see. It could really answer the big questions for this universe, and it still could be way off.

Are the male and female symbols supposed to mean anything?

I do. Because I'm still a child, in the future, there will be more knowledge about the above subjects.

No.

I hope my children get enough knowledge to be productive members of society, and be happy in whatever field they choose. I am a preschool teacher - I don't need advanced scientific knowledge to feel like I'm intelligent or worthy. I study such topics when they serve or interest me.

I believe that, outside one's chosen field, social/spiritual/emotional knowledge is far more important than being "book smart."

Absolutely! If I had any children, that is. There is no conflict between Gnostic Christianity and science. They are perfectly compatible.

I'm very intent on enabling my daughter to know more than I do in these fields. I hope she shows interest in them.

I hope that I learn enough so that I can teach my children and they will surpass me.

I also hope they learn more than I know about history and language and philosophy.

Atheist. Yes, I do although that would be enough to be a professional scientist.
