Great question! I believe in a greater power, life force-love energy, creator. Religion is too small and too limited to provide a good understanding or discription of God. I think it's too bad that people's stories about God were written down in a permanent description of God, such as the Bible and other works. Knowledge about God would still be passed on, would still be communicated through human experiences with God, but not frozen and solidified into something people would interpret literally and use against each other.

Wiccans believe in one supreme life force, or intelligence - sometimes called the Initiator or The One. This force then manifests as Goddess and God in perfect balance. This is polarity and all life is polarity. Neither Goddess nor God are stronger or more important than the other, they complement each other and together form the perfect All. However, pagans, and of course Wicca, believe that the Goddess and God are in all their creations in the Universe. The Earth is seen as the living body of the Goddess and is to be revered, honoured, loved and protected. Hence Wiccans are environmentalists. Wiccans see Deity as the birth and the death - full cycle. They also believe in reincarnation, death being but the end of the cycle which leads again to life. Wiccans accept responsibility for all their actions and their life. They do not believe in a devil, namely Satan, to blame their faults or mistakes on (such as the devil made me do it!). They seek to know themselves, overcoming weaknesses and building strengths. Wicca also does not seek to convert others to their belief. They believe that when a person is ready or seeking the path of Wicca they will be led to it. In fact until recently Wicca has been kept secret. This has been also to avoid persecution.
In the past all training and initiation has been through an existing coven. However in present times, as a coven contains no more than thirteen members, and more and more people are seeking the path, it has become obvious that coven training is not always possible. However even though there are covens, many witches choose to be solitary. This also can be very advantageous. Due to the rapid increase in people wanting to know about the craft many books have been written and witches make their information available to anyone who is genuinely interested in understanding. Also if the religion is widely known for what it really is then eventually the time will come when people who have been misled for so long, will cease to be afraid of witchcraft and see it as an asset.

I believe in God but not religion... I find religion is way too complicated to live by and it takes away the importance of God.

"Religion", the setting of human-made rules and regulations on believers in God; sometimes in defiance of Yahweh's Holy Word.

Having a "Relationship", is the message behind all of Yeshua's parables. A person can be very 'religious' and at the same time have no 'relationship' with Yahweh or Yeshua.

Me. I believe in God because my experience, logic and intuition lead me to do so - I don't believe in religion because swallowing a world view entire on the "authority" of a single book or person seems ridiculous to me, and I strongly suspect that organized religion, if it isn't actually BASED on the desire for power, tends to become thoroughly corrupted with it.

Religion is mans way of reaching God. Christianity is Jesus Christ use by God to reach man. Religion says you have to pray, dress and act a certain way. Christianity says your separated from God because of your sin but Christ died and rose so that you can be forgiven.

I believe in God, but not organized religion. When you start to feel like you have to go by all the rules of a church , that true church (your heart) kind of closes.
I Would see people after church get into the parking lot as fast as they could, blowing their horns...giving the finger...
just to get out of the parking lot faster.
Anybody can sit in a building with their hands folded, pretending to listen...But do they fold their hands behind closed doors at home?

I believe that Jesus was GOD, The Creator, made man, come in the flesh, born of a virgin, died on the Cross and Risen from the Dead--to return later on.
I have asked this Jesus (GOD) to come into my Heart (spirit) and save (recreate) me.
I have been saved (recreated).
This is REALITY (I can operate in the Spiritual Realm with GOD Almighty helping me).

Religion cannot recreate you (a spirit).
Religion cannot help you operate in GOD's Kingdom (spiritual realm).
Some religions can help you do good and become a better person, this is GOOD.
Religion cannot save you (make it possible for you to go to Heaven.

Only Jesus can Recreate your Spirit.
Hope this helps.

Does being agnostic count?

The church is a great place to network and meet like minded people, but they can't prove or disprove Gods existence. Religion is just another political party, special interest, power grabbing, influential, group of lying, self interested, power mongers. The catholic church and their child molesting priests are the perfect example.

Religion is a man-made institution, separate and apart from God and Jesus, and what men do, they often do wrong. Jesus warned people not to accept the teachings of men as doctrine, but only what was in the word of God.
