Young Baritone,
I believe that freedom requires each and every person to be able to follow His/Her personal beliefs. I would therefore rather have the right to follow Islam if I chose to do so even though I am truly a Christian. I like the freedoms that are afforded each of us in the USA. Have a great evening and a wonderful week.
Thanks,
Eds

Where it is permissible, but not the official religion and not the majority religion. If Christianity is to be tolerated, then Islam must also be tolerated, as well as Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Judaism, Wicca, or whatever. I'd prefer to live in a free society, not Nazi Germany (Christian) or the Soviet Union (Marxist). When Islam becomes the majority religion, it has a nasty habit of mistreating other religions (the Koran commands believers to do this. I have a copy).

I am not Islamic but I would rather live where it is permissible. People should be allowed to practice their own beliefs without fear of persecution. No one should be able to tell others what to believe or that they have to believe a certain way. Live and let live.

I have lived in predominantly Islamic towns and communities so I know what it is like. I have nothing against Muslims. I have friends who are Muslims, but they are the liberal types. The fundamentalist Muslims are the ones difficult to get along with. Since you cannot prevent the latter from living in a place, my answer to your question is I'd rather live in a place where Islam is forbidden. No offence to my Muslim friends.
Peace sand every blessing!

Permissible. After somebody restricts Islam, and, by extension, freedom of religion, what's the next right we'd have to give up?

I would rather live where it is permissible. I think all should have the freedom to practice their beliefs as long as it does not infringe on the well being of others. Freedom of religion and freedom from religion.

Where Islam is permissible. It implies more freedom of religion as compared to "where Islam is required."

I want to live in a place where we have Freedom of Religion. As an atheist, I know that's the only way I'll be protected from religious persecution. Also, I feel people of minority relgions need the protection also. I care about them too.

I believe in freedom of religion; it's a basic human right. I wouldn't want to live in a country that dictated people's religious beliefs in any way.
