Hey guys have a question for you. I was walking in my local mall when I brushed up against a flower box outside. I was wearing shorts, and since they were shorter than the height of the flower box the end of them, the left side, drug on the soil inside the box. I looked down and noticed there was one of those little flossing contractions dumped in the flower box, you know the kind that looks like a hook and has floss suspended from the end for you time use. I noticed too that there was what appeared to be fresh blood on the floss too. My shorts touched therm, and my shorts touched my skin, naturally, so I'm worried that I might get something from the blood. Let's assume the blood was HIV positive. I took a shower with hot water and soap and threw the shorts away, but I'm worried that the HIV could have been spread to other parts of my skin in the shower, and into my hair, etc. I am worried that I didn't kill the virus by taking a hot shower. Please help, I am freaking out.
Thanks

Dude, HIV virus can not live outside of a hosts body. When infected blood is exposed to the atmosphere outside the body, the HIV is no longer living. The only reason you would have to worry about getting someone else's blood on you is if you had a cut or open wound, and that blood gets into your wound. An open wound gives the HIV easy access to your blood stream, and in that case you would be infected. You should go to a clinic immediately and get yourself tested and the shots that they give for emergencies like this. Hot showers don't make HIV go away. Get to a clinic!

You don't have to worry about HIV. First of all the blood needs to be fresh and the minute air touches it is isn't fresh. Bodily fluids like saliva, blood and semen are transmitted in a fluid state and have not been sitting on a foreign object. Put some anti bacterial ointment on it and relax. It is not that easy to catch HIV. If you feel better you can take a test but you are fine trust me.

If you won't believe what you've been told EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU POST THIS SAME QUESTION FOR THE PAST 2 WEEKS, then get a damn test. If I see this question again, I'll report you and I don't care who knows.

Sounds like a case of unprotected sex to me. The flowerbox thing, just sounds like an excuse. Either way, I would just go see a dr. he'll know what to do!!
