Do you see God on the same level as yourself and your friend? Listen to this: Genesis...In the beginning God created the Heavens and the earth and everything therein (including you and your friend). John 1 "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The Word became flesh and dwelled among us." John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life...God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." What was the last thing that you created or your friend before he/she died. Had your friend accepted Jesus as their own and personal Saviour. I hope so, because if not they are headed to a lost eternity. What God has done for you in the past and is doing in the present and will be doing in the future, He deserves more than your praise and worship, because no one, ever, would be as loving and as gracious and as merciful and as faithful and as kind to you as God. So go count your blessings, because they are many. Love, be bless.

Hoo- boy. I can tell you didn't come out of my religious ed program. Maybe your mom can get a refund.
OK. Here goes.
We worship God because He created us. Before He formed you in your mother's womb, He knew you and loved you. He chose you for LIFE!
Yeah, we may not understand WHY things happen the way they do, but understand NOTHING bad comes from God- ONLY good. The bad things that happen in this world- like your friend's death- are the result of all the sin in the world. I'm not saying your friend sinned and that is why she died- it's all the sin in the world together that leads to bad things.
Yes, He chose to die. And if you were the only person in the world, Jesus Christ still would have hung on that Cross so you could have eternal life with Him! He came as an infant, grew to adulthood, laughed, cried, ate, drank, slept- and died-all so you would know He knows exactly what it is like to live this life. Then He rose again to show us He has power even over death.
Confirmation is just the start, and now is actually a normal time to be experiencing what you are. You have the grace of the Sacrament working in you- and the devil is trying to fight it. Think about it....there is only one being who benefits from you doubting your faith- the devil.
Read your Bible- try the Gospel of Mark, it is short. Take it in bite size passages....think about it.

This is a common thing nowadays. I think there are many young people today who do not understand the seriousness of sin in the eyes of God. First of all, lets see how much you do understand. Do you consider yourself to be a good person? Most people do, as I did once upon a time. But have you ever told a lie? If so, then you are a liar.(So am I). Has God always been your foremost consideration? Have you ever used Gods name in a casual fashion, when you weren't talking to or about Him? That is called blasphemy, and is very serious. Have you always been obedient to your parents? Have you ever been angry with someone, or wished they were dead? That is the same as murder, because God doesn't only judge by actions, but also by the intentions of the heart. I am not trying to drag you down, because I am guilty of all these and more. The Bible says all liars will have their part in the lake of fire. So what can we do? All are guilty before God, "There is none righteous, no, not one". That is why Jesus came, to take on our sins so we can be right with God, the righteous for the unrighteous. He was the only one who could die for our sins because He committed no sin. He was God in the form of a man, and He didn't have to die for us, He did it because He loved us. God says He has inscribed your name on the palms of His hands. Now, since God is so great,(have you considered the universe, with all its complexities, that God created it, He fine-tuned it to be as it is) and He loves us enough to die an excruciating death, when He could have came off that cross and destroyed everything, yet He stayed on it, suffering pain and humiliation, dying the death of a criminal, because He was looking forward to the fact that sometime later you and I and all others who would trust in Him would be saved by it, is He not worthy of our highest praise and worship? This is just the tip of the iceberg, but hopefully it will help you. God bless

You did not pay any attention. Can someone fail their confirmation class? You should have.
Jesus didn't die in an accident, He died for us. He died a horrible, painful death for the sole purpose of giving us the chance for eternal life. He could have easily walked away, as you said, it was his choice. He knew it was gonna happen. Because of His sacrifice, you don't have to make sacrifices. You can be forgiven for any sin, all because of His sacrifice for you. He doesn't want you to worship Him, He wants you to worship His Father, God, which is why we were told to pray to "Our Father, who art in heaven".
I'm sorry you lost a friend, but that was an accident, a horrible accident. Christ did not have an accident. He went into it knowing exactly how painful and humiliating it would be. He thinks you're worth it.

Pastor Billy says: some good answers here some not so good answers.
I have to ask you a question which may help you, what is your purpose? If you've just been confirmed you've accepted your purpose of rejecting Satan and accepting Jesus as your savior.
As funny as this seems sometimes the most obvious is missed by those we think are properly catachised, Jesus is God. As son of God is, Christians and Catholics in particular profess Jesus is God. Our purpose is to worship him because he is the redeemer. It is written in our Christian Creed "[Jesus] is begotten and not made" your friend is a creation of the God there is a huge difference.
There is a term Divine Providence I suggest you study what that means

You are just starting on a spiritual journey which will be full of doubts, trials and persecution along the way. What you need to do is prepare for that journey.
Here are some tips I would like to give you.
1. Nourish your faith regularly by reading the gospel for the day and going to Mass every Sunday and all holy days of obligation.
2. Get a Spiritual Director who will guide you to that journey of faith. He does not have to be priest. He should preferably be someone who is mature in our faith. Since you are a girl, I suggest a nun or one of lady elders of your Church.
3. Develop a relationship with the Lord through a regular prayer time. The Sacraments, particularly the sacrament of Reconciliation and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, will be your food for the journey so take it regularly.
Peace and every blessing!

Please take with a grain of salt, Harsh words follow.
Please, think about this. God is directly responsible for your friends death. God caused the accident. Why worship some thing that causes such harm? How is that love?
Your better off gettting out of your religeon for a few years, then if after seeing how other religeons REALLy are, perhaps you'll go back to god, or perhaps you'll change and realize the christian god is no longer the god that spoke to moses but just the devil wearing his skin.

You have to understand the REASON why Christ died.
He didn't die because He it was just some movement or idea He was insane enough about to lose His own life over. He gave His life to God as a sacrifice for our sins. He died for you and me. He died as the ultimate act of love and mercy from God, because Jesus is God, the second person of the Holy Trinity.
Did you get that? Jesus... is... God. He wasn't just a regular person that everybody has been going nuts over for nothing for the past 2,000 years. He is our Lord and Savior who gave Himself, gave His life, so that our sins could be washed away and we could have the hope of eternal life with Him in heaven. This is who Jesus is. This is why we worship Him (God) on Sundays.
My prayers are with your friend. I'm truly sorry for your loss.
God bless.

You respect, honor, and are devoted to your parents... Why? It is because of who they are and what they have and are doing for you. You know that they love you. For these reasons, it could be said that you worship and love your parents. It is the same reasons we should love and worship God. Think about it from this perspective, and you can see why we should honor, respect and be devoted to God. It is about relationships, which is why God became a man, to die for our sins, so that we could be adopted by covenant into God's family. That is why we can call Him Abba, or Father. Christ, through His death, has re-established our relationship with the living God. Through Him we are now reunited with God. because of His love for us. It is only right that we should now come to Him and express our love to Him, to worship Him.

Didn't you learn from all those catechism classes why Jesus died on the cross? Don't be embarrassed to ask your mom.
Note: The reason God created you was for him, and nothing else, the ultimate goal of life is to be with him and worship him.
