Most of these answers are right. However, undercover vehicles, which you wouldn't recognize as a police car, is almost never going to conduct traffic stops. There is a difference between an undercover, and a slick top, which is a standard police vehicle, minus the lightbar. They are usually unmarked, with lights on the visor, dash, and in the grill.

There is no particular color that is used...I've seen unmarked minivans, full-size vans and even Corvettes. The vehicle that the police use for our DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) car - I know, it's not an unmarked car but I think it's interesting anyway - has spinners on the rims.

I see a lot of white cars with city plates parked is 'Police Only' spaces near the local courthouse. That said, if you can tell by looking that is is a police car, it isn't really unmarked.

I know people who have been stopped by police driving mini-vans. There is no 'standard' for an unmarked police car.

They are several different colors. The idea is that you are not supposed to know they are police cars.

They can be any car of any colour -- a lot of it depends on the Police Service and the purpose of the vehicle (traffic, detective, etc)
