My e-mail friend stopped corresponding after 5 1/2 years. I don't know what I said or did to hurt her. We shared so much...I love a woman I've never seen!

Wow what a bummer.......its hard not knowing especially after such a long time corresponding with each other. I think u should try to contact her a couple more times to find out whats going on, if u dont get a responce keep it moving. It may seem hard at first being that u shared, bonded and fell in love with this person but there is life after the internet affair. Keep ur head up.

You don't love a woman you've never seen, you're infatuated with a fantasy version of this woman.
That doesn't make the pain any less, and I sympathize that you're deeply emotionally invested in this person, but the truth is you don't really know her. She could be nothing like she represented herself to be in the emails.
All kinds of things could have happened. She may simply have a temporary loss of internet and not be able to communicate. She may be offended by something you said and has decided not to respond (if so then again she's not the woman you thought she was). She may have met someone else in her offline life and decided that you've served your purpose and she doesn't need contact with you anymore. She may have died (God forbid and I hate to bring it up, but it's a possibility).
You have no way of knowing. The truth is that you didn't know her, you only knew her online persona.
Lots of people are probably going to tell you to move on, and I know that's easier said than done, but eventually you'll move on and be happier.
