Yeah, I think so...
because one day when I was in Seattle Washington,
I opened a fortune cookie and read the little note.

"After3 weeks, something wonderful will happen."

And something wonderful did happen.

God can speak to us anyway He chooses. He has a sense of humor. I remember asking God for a new job and then I went into a chinese restuarant. After eating there I opened up a fortune cookie which said I would get a new job soon. And I got one two weeks later with more pay. Later on, when I was looking a even better job, I read this fortune cookie which said I would get a great promotion but it would not be easy. And It came to pass. So, when you pray and you expect an answer from the Lord, it can come anyway He chooses, but you have to be able to discern it is God.

I'm a Methodist Christian, and no, I don't think God speaks to people through fortune cookies. I'm also half chinese, and that chinese tradition came about in the Han dynasty as a way to apss messages on to people in secret, and also to scare political icons at the time during banquets. Ways of passing on messages that wouldn't be found were always being developed at the time, so it was logical that the fortune cookie descends from that.

However, you can be sure that is you pray enough, the Lord will speak to you through many different means, and if you find that fortune cookie notes are the way He speaks to you personally, then who am I to say he doesn't? ^_^

I find he speaks to me through the arts, but people may tell me that someone wrote a song for a different purpose entirely!!

And the angels work in many mysterious ways too. in love and light, Tasha x

I wouldn't limit God. He'll speak to you however He chooses, whether it be through the conscience, another person, the bible, church, fortune cookies, or lightning bolts.

xD

One time I gave a cookie to my little son and his read: "A refreshing change is in your future."

While he was then eating the cookie, he had an explosive diaper and his fortune came true. I took him into the bathroom for that "refreshing change!"

If God is speaking to me through those then he is pretty sick. I'm a thirteen year old and one of them told me I'm going to engage in sexual activity very soon.

You have to end all fortune cookies with "in bed" - Example: One day you will be rich and famous - "in bed".

Imagine what they'd say if they were real!

"Don't tell your wife what you did last night and prayed about this morning."

"Stop being such a jerk over AIDS and gay people."

"Stop pretending that I'm petty enough to make the earth the center of the universe and everything 6,000 years old"

"Stop fighting wars in my name"

"Stop pretending that I roast people in an eternal barbecue. That's what you morons want to do."

Ok, so I think deities are fake, but it's a fun idea to ponder.
