BRANDI,
I WAS SORRY TO READ ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE.COULD YOU NOW HAVE A DRY SOCKET?
THE PAIN WITH THOSE IS VERY, VERY BAD. HAVE A FACULTY DENTIST, NOT A STUDENT, ATTEND TO YOUR NEEDS.
IF YOU HAVE IBUPROFEN TAKE IT. CODEINE PAIN KILLERS ARE NOT AS EFFECTIVE BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT ANTI-INFLAMMATORY.

OK, kids - in defense of "teaching schools".... the studnets who do the work are usually quite well supervised.

2nd - there are "mistakes" that can occur in ANY situation with any practictioner...oh, wait, that's why they call it "practice". honestly, you can assume doctors, dentists, whoever won't ever have complications.

3rd - were you complaining when you had to pay a fraction of the regular cost for the extraction?

4th - it's not unusual for the doctor to leave a small piece of bone or tooth root in, and maybe you just need a follow up to get it out....no big deal.

lastly - dry sockets usually show up 3-5 days after the extraction, and it's quite possible you have one of those. these are easy to treat...just call the clinic and come in and 10 minutes later you'll be out the door in a lot less pain...just a little dressing to apply.

good luck!

Ouch! You really need to go to the doc or dentist and get antibiotics and Pain meds....If you dont have the money then go to your Local Emergency room you have to get the infection taaken care of 1st..Now I am sure you are far worse off then before.....I had a similar problem like that in Florida (South Florida).....You need to go to anywhere of those places asap...

Next time go to a qualified practitioner...

But for now, all I can say is eat lots of vegetables, drink lots of water, and get lots of sleep to minimize pain and speed up the healing process. Your body will repair itself, but you can lend a hand by not eating junk food or processed food, and eat lots of vegetables, meat, eggs, etc. Vegetables mainly.

i think you might have a dry socket. i would go back to them, they should have some stuff to put in the socket to make it feel better and you should get some pain killers like percocet. hope you feel better.
