I don't feel the same about God....?

Question

I had something bad happen to me a few years back, then my mother got sick, then my cousin came out the closet, then my mom got evicted, then my school wouldnt let me get my degree, then my mom went into nursing home, now I'm alone and have a hard time going to church or praying. I watch ministry on tv but its not the same. I love God, but I feel as though I cant get over myself enough to see him, what do I do?

Wow, it sounds like you could start praying at home, you must need his help at this tough time. Just go to a quiet place in your home and pour out your heart to him, he can give you a peaceful feeling by means of the holy ghost. who is the world's largest disaster and hunger relief organization? its not the red cross. its not the peace corps. Its "the relief society", a group that does more for all starving people and has more members (all volunteer) than any other. no one makes a dime for their time and effort served, all donations go directly for supplies to help the suffering.I think that is a mark of true Christians, doing what Christ would be doing if he were among us.

I don't know how to help, I feel the same way as you do. So many bad things happen, why would god let this happen to me?

The only thing I can come up with is that these are his lessons for us. We have to learn from the bad and then try and make the situation a positive somehow. Good luck and I'm so sorry

Just hang in there. These are trials in life and it sounds like you got hit with a bunch in a very short time. BUT don't forget the good things that have happened too. We sometimes do in times of trouble. Try to find a TRUSTWORTHY adult to have as a mentor. Maybe someone else who has been through hard times and has been able to come out well. Most poeple have really hard times we just dont' always know about it. Others lives can look so blessed but they have troubles too. I will keep you in my prayers.

Truth is a mother. When you are living under a cloak of lies there can be harmony for only so long. Much is the case with religion. It is only a matter of time the truth will come about a person’s life and the God belief and the bible.

No, God is not testing your faith. If you look very closely at the actions of the people in your life you can find their hand massaging their fate. Yes, that old cause and affect thing is inescapable.

Believe all your want in God but it will never stop the truth of man's own control of his own outcome in his own life. The other reality of life you cannot live the life of or for others.

As for your love of God considered this from a man that transcended Christianity:

Nothing replaces man’s inalienable rights to own his own mind but to believe in religion put Gods rights above all men. It is this lie that put man in crises with himself and other men. Since God is a silent force that cannot defend his own words by default his words become null in life itself. Some understand the evil of religion all they way down to the fact a belief in God will enslave all men. Because God has no voice of his own his words are subject to be used for the evil intentions men. Because the religious are lead to believe Gods is more important than man. This fallacy is used to lessening man's value, even to himself, to subdue him into submission so others can assert control over other him. Of course they will tell you it is Gods will what is happening in your life or even God is testing you. ULITMATELY YOU WILL CHOOSE WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU. Rather there is a God or not this is all we can do and there will be no punishment for owning your own soul.

I will add this: The belief in God is controlling and the men that understand this fact are the ones to rise to power because that sees opportunity where the non-thinking or the man that has given his soul to a God can’t fathom. This is why the God belief is dangerous to man’s freedom. The belief in God as superior to you is a form of slavery. Sorry for your pain but we all have stuff to deal with. I choose love of my family that is even extended to anyone that happens to gay and who is loosing their home and going through what ever they are going through. A book will never tell me who is worth loving and who is not.

Could always try Islam? Another religion maybe if your not getting the peace of mind your looking for. If not, maybe this is a test from God for you. God tests everyone in his own way, but he will never push a human to a point where he cant take it no more. Be stronge and dont give up! You would be lost without him!

reach deep into yourself and find your God centre. There is a bit of God in all of us. I know that you went through some tough times there which would certainly reek havoc on your belief, but this is what I recommend.... Pick up your bible and just read, anywhere anything. It has helped me thought the darkest times in my life and will help you or anyone who needs the help, It is there in black and white is free and available to you at your disposal. Go back to church when your ready, or don't it is up to you, you don't need to be in church to believe and feel the power of God

It really sounds to be like God is testing you big time. Im only 23 and ive been tested soo many but each time i give thanks to God for seeing me as special and worthy of testing and im proud of myself for building a stronger relationship with Him each time I have a test. Just think that God saw you out of all of the people around you who appear to have it all and decided to give you a chance to call for Him and reach out to Him and prove you love and loyalty. He does love you and Hes watching you extra close right now. Your relationship with God is personal and if you cannot step into His house right now then dont but please pray and keep communication open with Him. God can help some people in their darkest hour, or rather some church or religious support group.

Maybe the god that can help you is not in the usual place. Trying different places of worship or belief systems may help you re-connect.
