Ok im a Long Haul Trucker, got a job lined up and got a good bead on the housing market.
Im coming over with wife and a 13 year old son.

I am assuming your Visa's for moving to Canada are also in hand or nearly so ...

I think that trying new things and new places is always a good thing! Even if you end up not liking it, you will have seen and experienced new things, and you can go back to the U.K. with a sense of achievement and some cool stories!
I like Alberta, and I think you will find it very different from the U.K. just in geography and weather, as well as other things.

Be sure to visit all the cool places in Canada that you can! Too many people move to a new region or country then don't bother to get around and see everything. I think you will be impressed with how expansive Canada is!!

Yes; Alberta is booming these days, and Lethbridge is a good community. Go and make some money; ski, party, take in a WHL game, etc., as you only live once.

It's a good idea if you have a job lined up, or a lot of money to live on for housing, etc. until you start working.
